Technical Data
Thermostatic charge: Varies based on refrigerant and temperature range (e.g., R410A/R32: -30-+15 °C; R22/R407C: -22-+60 °F).
Maximum operating temperature (Thermostatic element): Up to 150 °C / 302 °F for MAH charge.
Maximum working pressure: 46 bar / 667 psig.
Maximum test pressure: 51 bar / 740 psig.
Static Superheat (SS): 4K / 7.2 °F, adjustable from 0-8K / 0-14.4 °F.
Valve Options
Available options include specific refrigerants, evaporating temperature ranges, MOP points, static superheat settings, and flare connections. Contact Danfoss sales for detailed discussions on valve options.
MOP Function
MOP points for various refrigerants are specified, indicating the evaporating pressure at which the MOP function engages.
Identification
Valve identification typically includes the valve type (TGE), nominal capacity (in tons of refrigeration or kW), refrigerant, evaporating temperature range, code number, and maximum working pressure.
Design and Function
The TGE series features a balanced port design that prevents pressure drop variations from affecting performance, ensuring stable control across diverse operating conditions. Key components include the bulb with capillary tube, thrust pad, thermostatic element, push pin seal, and balance port spindle.
The balanced port design is beneficial for systems with:
- Widely varying head pressures
- Widely varying evaporator loads
- Widely varying pressure drops across the TXV
- Fluctuating or extremely low liquid temperatures
- Intermittent liquid line flash gas
Sizing
Sizing tables are provided for various refrigerants (R410A, R22, R134a, R404A/R507, R290, R407C) across different condensing temperatures and evaporating temperatures. These tables help in selecting the appropriate valve orifice based on required capacity.
Correction factors for subcooling (fsub) and distributor pressure drop (fp) are included to adjust capacity calculations for specific system conditions.
Dimensions and Weights
Detailed dimensions and weights are provided in both metric (mm, kg) and imperial (in., lbs) units for different valve types and connection sizes.
