• How do I format my LaCie drive for Time Machine?

  Most LaCie drives come preformatted in exFAT for compatibility with both Windows and Mac. To use Apple Time Machine, you must reformat the drive to a Mac-native file system like APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Note that reformatting erases all data.

• Why is my LaCie drive not mounting?

  If your drive doesn't mount, check that all cables are securely connected and try a different port. For desktop models like the 2big Dock, ensure the external power supply is connected. If using a Thunderbolt connection on a PC, ensure your Thunderbolt firmware is up to date.

• Does the LaCie Rugged drive need a power adapter?
