3. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Clean: Before first use, clean the water tank and capsule adapters with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
3. Fill Water Tank: Fill the 34 oz (1 Liter) water tank with pure water up to the MAX line.
4. Power On: Plug the coffee maker into a 120V power outlet. Press the power button to turn it on.
5. Initial Rinse: Perform an initial rinse cycle without any coffee or capsule to prime the machine and clean internal components.

4. Operating Instructions

General Operation

• The control panel features a Power button, Water Volume Selection buttons, and a Pre-Soak button.
• The machine heats up quickly, allowing you to brew coffee in less than 2 minutes.
• Ensure your cup height is less than 5.3 inches and width is less than 3.35 inches to fit under the dispenser.

Brewing with Different Coffee Formats

The KOTLIE ST-550 comes with various adapters for different coffee types:

• K-Cup Capsules: Insert the K-Cup capsule into its dedicated adapter. Close the adapter lid firmly to ensure the piercing needle punctures the capsule correctly. Caution: Be aware of sharp piercing needles inside the K-Cup adapter.
• Nespresso Original Capsules: Use aluminum Nespresso capsules. Gently press the capsule into its adapter to ensure the piercing needle punctures it properly.
• Dolce Gusto Capsules: Insert the Dolce Gusto capsule into its adapter.
• Ground Coffee: Use 7-9 grams of medium-fine ground coffee in the ground coffee adapter. Do not exceed the MAX line or tamp the grounds too firmly, as this can cause leakage or weak brews.

Brewing Different Coffee Styles

Once the desired adapter and coffee are loaded, select your preferred water volume and press the brew button. The 19-Bar pressure pump ensures optimal extraction for various coffee styles.

• Espresso: Recommended with Espresso Point capsules, ground coffee, or Nespresso capsules.
• Ristretto: Use hard-shell Espresso Point capsules or ground coffee.
• Americano: Best brewed with K-Cup capsules.
• Latte/Cappuccino: For milk-based drinks, use Dolce Gusto milk powder capsules first, then brew an espresso shot with a Dolce Gusto or Nespresso espresso pod.
