1. What is the sound of the machine when making coffee?
A: To extract better coffee, the KOTLIE 4-in-1 coffee maker uses a 1450W high-power boiler and 19Bar pressure imported water pump. This ensures perfect extraction at 93 °C constant temperature and 19Bar constant pressure. During instant puncture, the capsule will produce no more than 70 decibels of noise, lasting for a few seconds before returning to normal.
2. Why does the K-Cup capsule keep dripping after making coffee?
A: Because the K-Cup capsule internal chamber is larger, residual liquid is more common. It is recommended to wait for the completion of the drip before removing the coffee cup.
3. Water leakage from the bottom of the machine?
A: Please check whether the water catch tray is full; also, check whether the water tank is installed properly.
4. After making coffee, there is water vapor in the water tank?
A: This is normal machine pressure relief protection.
5. First time to make coffee, feel the plastic flavor?
A: This is a normal phenomenon. KOTLIE pods use BPA-free materials, and odor is very small. For the first use, it is recommended to flush hot water through the machine a few times to completely reassure users.
6. After the capsule coffee maker has finished making coffee, there will be a few seconds of dripping, which is a normal phenomenon.
A: It is recommended to stop working and wait for 5-10 seconds before taking away the coffee cup.
7. In addition to Nestle and K-Cup capsules, can it support other capsules?
A: KOTLIE currently supports Nestle Small and K-Cup capsules in its 4-in-1 machine. Users can purchase more pods from KOTLIE, including capsules that support Dolce Gusto, Caffitaly, and more.
8. What is the liquid volume for large and small cups? How can the amount of coffee liquid be increased?
A: The default making time is 23 seconds for a small cup (about 60ML) and 50 seconds for a large cup (about 120ML). Users can brew twice or continue to press the large cup button and release it until the desired coffee volume is achieved (minimum: 15S, maximum: 90S). To get more than 12OZ, refer to the Coffee Volume Setting in Article 7 of the manual. This feature is very convenient.
9. This machine is an espresso machine, the height is not high enough, my cup cannot be put in.
A: This coffee machine is an espresso machine. KOTLIE primarily considers the needs of most espresso capsule coffees, as well as a smaller footprint and portability. Therefore, mugs taller than 10CM cannot be used. Users can choose a mug with a height of 9.5cm and a wide mouth.
10. I'm a little confused about when to make my large and small cups, what should I do?
A: Due to the memory function of the large and small cups, the volume of each preparation defaults to the last coffee liquid volume. To return to the default capacity, press and hold the large cup button while plugging in the power supply. The button indicator light will blink twice, restoring the factory settings.
11. After powering on the unit, the small and large cups are blinking and then stop blinking, what happens then?
Every time the machine is used, after powering on, the large and small cup lights will blink for about 10 seconds. This is part of the warm-up process and is a normal phenomenon. Users need to wait for the lights to stop blinking before beginning normal use.
12. Why is the temperature of the coffee liquid not high when I just extracted it?
Preheat the coffee cup. Preheat the coffee machine: After the machine is turned on, run the first cup without capsules by pressing the small cup button to release water. This preheats and cleans the entire machine. Then, begin to make coffee with the second cup. To remove limescale, refer to page 12 of the manual.
13. After turning on the machine, you can hear the machine running but no water comes out?
Please first check whether there is water in the water tank. If there is water, it may be due to scale blockage inside the pipe. In this case, unplug the power supply, remove the water tank, take out the hose from the accessories, inject a small amount of water into the water tank inlet, and discharge the air in the pipeline to ensure it is unobstructed. Refer to the manual page 16 diagrams.
14. The coffee machine has not been used for a long time, there is water in the water tank, I can hear the machine running sound, but no water flow?
If the machine has not been used for a long time, the internal pump and boiler may dry out and not work. To resolve this, remove the water tank, take out the hose from the accessories, and pour a small amount of water into the water tank inlet until water flows out from the black hose at the top of the water tank. Refer to the manual page 16 illustration.
15. I use LOR small capsules to extract coffee, but no coffee liquid comes out, only water?
Check the surface of the capsule for breaks and dents. Another reason is the capsule size. If the capsule has aluminum film and shell depression, or is broken or the wrong size, the machine needle may not penetrate the capsule inside, preventing water flow from entering the internal coffee powder. Try replacing the capsule with another one. Pods fit tightly depending on the brands. For example, illy, Lavazza, and Tim's Nespresso pods all fit differently.
16. What capsules does KOTLIE's 513K coffee maker support?
KOTLIE supports branded capsules such as Nespresso Original, Dolce Gusto large capsules, Caffitaly, Lavazza A Modo MIO, Lavazza BLUE, and KEURIG's K-Cup large capsules. However, other capsule sizes may have poor compatibility, and some pods need to be purchased separately.
17. Why is it that when I make two consecutive cups of coffee with Nespresso capsules, the cup sizes are not the same?
This is a normal phenomenon. There are no two identical cups of coffee in the world, even with the same material. KOTLIE's single cup is designed at about 40-60ML, and a double cup at 80-120ML. The first single cup might be 45ML, and the second cup 55ML, depending on the flow rate, pressure, and temperature inside the coffee machine at a certain time. High-end coffee machines are more accurate in these controls, but there will still be a deviation of about 8%.
18. With K-Cup capsule coffee extraction, the coffee flavor is very bad, and there is coffee residue?
It is possible that the space between the filter and the bottom inside the K-Cup capsule is too small, resulting in the standard K-Cup capsule filter space accounting for 1/3 of the capsule. This can cause the bottom of the pods pinprick to directly pierce the filter and contact the capsule above the coffee powder. With the release of pressure, coffee residue will come out with the liquid. It is recommended to replace the brand of capsule coffee. Secondly, users may not be using KEURIG's K-Cup large capsules; it is possible that KEURIG's K-Cup has rounded capsules.
19. I use K-Cup capsules, and long press large cup for 90 seconds, only about 3 ounces of liquid?
This can be due to capsule quality. If the K-Cup capsule near the bottom of the filter space is less than 1/3 of the whole, it can easily cause the internal filter to touch the coffee powder when pierced. This results in the capsule filling with water and coffee powder mixture, blocking the exit, and thus less coffee liquid flows out. It is recommended to replace the brand capsule with a guaranteed quality.
20. Why can't KCUP capsules be pushed into the machine after being loaded with pods?
Because KCUP capsule pods have a needle at the bottom, users need to press the capsule so that the needle pierces the capsule, allowing the capsule pods to be installed.
21. The machine is overheated when used, the pods cannot be taken out?
For some large capsules, it is inevitable that some of the aluminum film surface and the shell of the depression, or insufficient filter space inside the capsule, or coffee powder particles that are too fine (recommended for 4-8 scale), or not enough/not filled with filter cups, or not compacted and pressed, etc., may cause the machine to overheat, resulting in the machine jamming and pods not being able to be taken out. Users must disconnect the power supply and wait for the machine to completely cool down before attempting to remove the pods.
22. When using ground coffee, there is very little coffee liquid and the machine leaks?
First, check whether the amount of coffee powder is appropriate. Usually, about 14 grams of coffee powder are needed, and it should be compacted and flattened, not too tight or too loose. Second, check whether the upper cover of the coffee powder pods is blocked. If it is blocked, the hot water from the coffee machine cannot go down to the powder bowl and will overflow along the edge.
23. The machine vibrates a lot, placed on the table on the move?
As the machine reaches maximum power during capsule puncture and extraction, vibration will occur. KOTLIE machines are designed with consideration for the family environment, portability, smaller size, and lighter weight. It is recommended not to place the machine on a smooth surface like marble. If necessary, a piece of cotton cloth can be placed on wood and other rough surfaces to prevent movement.
24. After a period of time, the machine appeared on the power supply, the various indicator lights are not bright?
This may indicate motherboard power connection problems, requiring a maintenance process.
25. Why can't I use the ESE of Senseo I bought?
KOTLIE machines support illy's 44mm E.S.E Bags. Other sizes are not supported.
26. How to clean the machine?
Load empty pods and place a cup underneath. Put citric acid into the water tank. Press the small cup button and turn on the power at the same time. When the on/off button and the small cup light up, press the small cup button to start cleaning for 120 seconds. It is recommended to clean the machine once every three months, at least two times each time.
27. How many cups of coffee can be made when the machine works continuously?
Laboratory data shows that the KOTLIE home coffee machine, at 20-25 °C room temperature, can make 15 cups of coffee without interruption, ensuring capsule quality, no dent, or breakage.
28. After making, there will be a small amount of water in the pod seeds?
This is a normal phenomenon. Because KOTLIE uses a multi-capsule system and the size is very extreme, there is no space to set up a box to automatically recycle capsules and leftover water. Therefore, users need to manually pour out the used capsules and residual water.
