1. Introduction

The CallToU 2 Way Intercom system provides reliable and convenient two-way communication for various indoor and outdoor environments. Designed for ease of use, it features a long-range signal, hands-free operation, and a durable, waterproof design, making it suitable for caregivers, families, and small businesses.

3. Product Overview and Features

The CallToU 2 Way Intercom is designed for clear and convenient communication. Key features include:

  • Extended Range: Up to 3300 feet for seamless cross-space communication.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Intercom

Before first use, fully charge both intercom units. A low battery alert will sound as a "di-di-di" alert every 20 seconds, and a flashing green light will blink once per second.

  1. First, turn off the radio by holding the power button.
  2. Use only the original Type-C charger and cable provided.
  3. Plug in the charger. The indicator light will show the charging status:
    • Getting Ready (first 2 minutes): Solid Green light.
    • Charging (2 minutes to 6 hours): Solid Red light.
    • Fully Charged (after 6 hours): Solid Green light (for over 3 minutes).
  4. Once fully charged, you can unplug the radio and turn it on.

4.2 Powering On/Off

To power on the intercom, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until you hear a confirmation tone. To power off, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until you hear a confirmation tone.

4.3 Setting Channels

For two intercom units to communicate, they must be set to the same channel. Use the "CH+" or "CH-" buttons to select the desired channel. The intercoms have 16 available channels.

4.4 Pairing Intercoms

The intercoms are typically pre-paired. If re-pairing is needed or to confirm pairing:

  1. Ensure both intercoms are powered on and set to the same channel using "CH+" or "CH-".
  2. Hold the power button on both units to turn them off.
  3. Simultaneously hold the power button and "CH+" button on both units until you hear a "beep" and see a flashing light. This indicates successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Communication (PTT)

To speak, press and hold the large PTT (Push-To-Talk) button. Release the button to listen. The intercom features a double PTT button for convenience.

5.2 VOX Hands-Free Function

The VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) function allows you to talk without pressing the PTT button. This is ideal for situations where your hands are occupied.

  1. Ensure both intercoms are on the same channel.
  2. Hold the power button on both units to turn them off.
  3. Simultaneously hold the "CH+" and power button together until you hear a "beep" and see a flashing light. This activates the VOX function.
  4. To disable VOX, turn off the walkie-talkie, then hold "CH+" and the power button together until you hear a "beep beep".

5.3 Keypad Lock

The keypad lock feature prevents accidental button presses that could change channels or settings. To activate or deactivate the keypad lock, refer to the product's specific instructions or the video below.

5.4 Volume Adjustment

The intercom offers 8 adjustable volume levels. Use the "VOL+" and "VOL-" buttons to increase or decrease the volume to your preferred level.

5.5 Making and Ending a Call

To initiate a call, ensure both units are on the same channel, then press the PTT button to speak. To end a call, simply release the PTT button or power off the unit if using VOX mode.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your CallToU intercom:

  • Keep the units clean by wiping them with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Store the intercoms in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain waterproof integrity.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Communication: Ensure both units are powered on, on the same channel, and fully charged. Re-pair if necessary.
  • Static Noise: Try switching to a different channel. Some channels may experience more interference.
  • Charging Issues: Ensure the charging cable is securely connected and you are using the original charger. Check for any debris in the charging port.
  • Low Volume: Adjust the volume using the "VOL+" button.
