Setup

Powering the Radio:

The PRUNUS J03C radio offers two power options: an internal rechargeable battery via USB-C or 4 AA batteries (not included).

  1. USB-C Charging: Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio's DC 5V port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The power indicator light will illuminate during charging. A full charge provides approximately 9 hours of continuous use.
  2. AA Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio. Insert 4 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.

When both rechargeable and AA batteries are present, the radio prioritizes the rechargeable battery. Once depleted, it automatically switches to AA batteries.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On/Off: Rotate the Volume Knob clockwise to turn the radio on. Continue rotating to increase volume. Rotate counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn off.
  2. Select Band: Use the AM/FM switch to select your desired radio band.
  3. Tune to a Station: Slowly rotate the Tuning Knob to scan for stations. The frequency display will show the current frequency.
  4. Adjust Volume: Use the Volume Knob to set the desired listening level.
  5. Headphone Use: For private listening, plug 3.5mm headphones (not included) into the headphone jack. The speaker will automatically mute.

Tuning and Reception

To achieve optimal reception:

  • FM Reception: Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle and direction for the clearest signal.
  • AM Reception: The radio has a built-in ferrite bar antenna for AM. Rotate the entire radio for the best reception. The telescopic antenna is not used for AM.
  • Avoid placing the radio near electronic devices that may cause interference.

Maintenance

  • Clean the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • If not using the radio for an extended period, remove the AA batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Store the radio in a cool, dry place.
