6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the low power indicator flashes on the display, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 4.1. Prompt battery replacement prevents the valves from closing unexpectedly and interrupting watering schedules.
6.2 Cleaning
Periodically check the water inlet filter for debris. Remove and rinse the filter under running water if it appears clogged. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on the timer.
6.3 Winterization
Before the first frost, remove the timer from the faucet. Drain any remaining water from the unit and store it in a dry, frost-free location indoors. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
7. Troubleshooting
- No water flow:
- Check if the faucet is turned on.
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient power.
- Verify that the watering schedule is correctly programmed and the dial is set to ON.
- Check the water inlet filter for clogs.
- Water leakage:
- Ensure all connections (faucet and hose outlets) are hand-tightened.
- Check the rubber washer in the water inlet. If it is loose, damaged, or missing, adjust or replace it.
- Apply plumber's tape to threads if leaks persist.
- Incorrect watering times:
- Verify the current time setting (Section 5.1).
- Review your programmed watering schedules for each zone (Section 5.2).
- Ensure only one zone valve is scheduled to open at a time.
- Display not working:
- Replace batteries with new AA alkaline batteries.
- Check battery polarity.
