2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate generators outdoors only, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
  • Electrical Shock Hazard: Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are dry and properly insulated. Do not touch the generator with wet hands.
  • Fire Hazard: Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke near the generator. Keep flammable materials away from the generator.
  • Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.
  • Read the Manual: Always read and understand the entire instruction manual before operating the generator.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.
  • Proper Grounding: Ensure the generator is properly grounded according to local electrical codes.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Wheel and Handle Assembly (if required): Attach the wheels and handles according to the assembly instructions provided in the separate assembly guide (if applicable).
  3. Add Engine Oil:
    • Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
    • Add the recommended engine oil (refer to specifications for type and capacity) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  4. Add Fuel:
    • Ensure the generator is on a level surface and the engine is off and cool.
    • Open the fuel cap and carefully pour unleaded gasoline into the fuel tank. Do not fill above the fuel filter screen.
    • Securely close the fuel cap.

Caution: Do not use E85 or any other fuel containing more than 10% ethanol. Do not mix oil with gasoline.

  5. Grounding: Connect a grounding wire from the generator's grounding terminal to a suitable ground source, as per local electrical codes.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Generator (Manual Start)

  1. Placement: Ensure the generator is placed outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from any structures or combustible materials.
  2. Fuel Valve: Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
  3. Engine Switch: Turn the engine switch (often labeled "ON/OFF" or "START/STOP") to the "ON" position.
  4. Choke Lever: If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" or "CLOSED" position. If the engine is warm, the choke may not be necessary.
  5. Pull Starter: Grasp the recoil starter handle firmly and pull it slowly until you feel resistance, then pull quickly and smoothly. Repeat until the engine starts.
  6. Choke Adjustment: Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" or "OPEN" position as the engine warms up.
  7. Warm-up: Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to warm up before connecting any electrical loads.

5.2 Connecting Electrical Loads

  1. Ensure the generator is running stably.
  2. Plug your electrical devices into the appropriate AC 220V or DC 12V outlets on the control panel.
  3. Do not overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.

5.3 Stopping the Generator

  1. Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
  2. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
  3. Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
  4. Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your generator. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool, and disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
