2. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the product:

  • Read All Instructions: Ensure you understand all assembly and operating instructions before using the bed.
  • Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 485 lbs (220 kg). Overloading can cause structural failure and injury.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the bed during assembly and folding/unfolding operations to prevent pinching or other injuries.
  • Stable Surface: Always place the bed on a flat, level, and stable surface.
  • Lock Wheels: When the bed is in use or stored in a stationary position, ensure the two lockable wheels are engaged to prevent accidental movement.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Retighten as necessary.
  • Proper Folding/Unfolding: Follow the instructions carefully when folding or unfolding the bed to avoid injury or damage to the mechanism.

3. Setup: Unfolding the Bed

The DORTALA Folding Bed comes pre-assembled and only requires unfolding for use. Follow these steps:

  1. Position the Folded Bed: Place the folded bed in the desired location, ensuring sufficient space around it for unfolding. Ensure the lockable wheels are engaged to prevent movement during unfolding.
  2. Release Securing Strap: Locate and unfasten the hook and loop fasteners (securing strap) that hold the folded bed together.
  3. Unfold the Frame: Gently pull the two halves of the bed frame apart until they are fully extended and flat. The central support legs should automatically extend.
  4. Ensure Legs are Locked: Verify that all support legs are fully extended and locked into their open position for maximum stability.
  5. Position Mattress: The mattress is designed to unfold with the frame. Ensure it is properly aligned on the frame. The integrated mattress retainers at the head and foot of the bed will help keep the mattress in place.
  6. Disengage Wheel Locks: If you need to move the bed after unfolding, disengage the locks on the two wheels. Once in the final position, re-engage the wheel locks.
