Setup

Powering the Radio

The PRUNUS J-135 offers three methods for power supply:

  1. Built-in Rechargeable Battery (1800mAh): The radio comes with an internal rechargeable battery. To charge, connect the provided USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the side of the radio and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The power indicator light will show charging status.
  2. Solar Panel: For outdoor use, open the solar panel located on top of the radio. Place the radio in direct sunlight to charge the internal battery. This method is ideal for maintaining charge during extended outdoor activities.
  3. AA Dry Batteries: For backup power, open the battery compartment on the back of the radio and insert 4 AA dry batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.

Antenna Setup

For optimal radio reception, extend the 16-inch telescopic antenna fully. Adjust its direction for the best signal clarity, especially for FM and SW bands.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off and Volume Control

To power on the radio, rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise. Continue rotating to increase the volume. To power off, rotate the VOLUME knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.

Radio Operation (AM/FM/SW)

  1. Select Band: Use the band switch located on the top of the radio to select between FM, AM, or SW (Shortwave) modes.
  2. Tune Station: Rotate the TUNING knob to scan for radio stations. The frequency display will indicate the current frequency.
  3. Adjust Antenna: Extend and adjust the telescopic antenna for the best reception. For AM, rotating the radio itself may also improve reception.

Bluetooth Operation

  1. Switch to Bluetooth Mode: Slide the band switch to the 'MP3' position. Long press the 'M' button to cycle through modes until you hear "Bluetooth mode".
  2. Pairing: On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for "J-135S". Select it to pair. Once paired, you will hear a confirmation sound.
  3. Playback: Play audio from your device. Use the radio's play/pause button or your device's controls.

TF Card / USB Drive Playback

  1. Insert Media: Insert a TF card or USB drive (up to 64GB) into the corresponding slot on the top of the radio.
  2. Select Mode: Slide the band switch to the 'MP3' position. Long press the 'M' button to cycle through modes until you hear "TF Card mode" or "USB Drive mode".
  3. Playback Controls: Use the playback control buttons (play/pause, next/previous track) on the top of the radio to manage your audio files.

Flashlight Function

To activate the built-in flashlight, locate the flashlight switch on the side of the radio and slide it to the 'ON' position. Slide it back to 'OFF' to turn off the flashlight.
