4. Setup and Programming

4.1 Powering the Receiver Module

Connect a DC 12V power supply to the receiver module's input terminals. Ensure correct polarity (positive to '+' and negative to '-'). The receiver is designed for fixed wiring connections.

4.2 Learning a Remote Control (Pairing)

The receiver module uses an intelligent learning code system to pair with remote controls. Follow these general steps to pair a new remote:

  1. Ensure the receiver module is powered on.
  2. Press the "Learning Button" (labeled "KEY" on the PCB, refer to Figure 4) on the receiver module. An indicator light on the receiver will illuminate, indicating it is in learning mode.
  3. While the indicator light is on, press any button on the remote control you wish to pair (e.g., Button A or B).
  4. The indicator light on the receiver will flash or turn off, confirming successful pairing.
  5. Test the remote control to ensure it operates the receiver as expected.

4.3 Deleting Existing Remote Controls

To clear all paired remote controls from the receiver's memory:

  1. Ensure the receiver module is powered on.
  2. Press and hold the "Learning Button" (KEY) on the receiver module for approximately 8 seconds.
  3. The indicator light will flash rapidly and then turn off, indicating that all stored remote controls have been successfully deleted.
  4. After deletion, no previously paired remote controls will be able to operate the receiver until they are re-paired.

5. Operating Modes

The KR1202-4 receiver module supports two primary working modes: Momentary and Toggle. The specific mode is typically configured during the learning process or via jumpers on the board (refer to product documentation or supplier for exact mode configuration instructions if not covered by learning button sequence).

5.1 Momentary Mode

In Momentary mode, the relay output is active only while the corresponding button on the remote control is being pressed. Releasing the button deactivates the relay.

  • Press and hold Button A: Relay 1 activates. Release Button A: Relay 1 deactivates.
  • Press and hold Button B: Relay 2 activates. Release Button B: Relay 2 deactivates.

5.2 Toggle Mode

In Toggle mode, each press of a button on the remote control toggles the state of the corresponding relay. One press activates the relay, and the next press deactivates it.

  • Press Button A once: Relay 1 activates. Press Button A again: Relay 1 deactivates.
  • Press Button B once: Relay 2 activates. Press Button B again: Relay 2 deactivates.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control and receiver module. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement (Transmitter): When the remote control's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive, replace the 3V coin cell button battery. Refer to Figure 6 for the remote control's appearance.
  • Environmental Conditions: Keep the devices dry and away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and corrosive environments.
  • Storage: If storing for extended periods, remove the battery from the remote control to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Remote control not responding.
  • Low or dead battery in remote.
  • Remote not paired with receiver.
  • Receiver not powered.
  • Interference.
  • Replace remote battery.
  • Perform pairing procedure (Section 4.2).
  • Check DC 12V power connection to receiver.
  • Move away from sources of strong RF interference.
Reduced remote control range.
  • Low battery in remote.
  • Obstructions between remote and receiver.
  • RF interference.
  • Replace remote battery.
  • Ensure clear line of sight or minimize obstructions.
  • Identify and mitigate sources of interference.
Receiver not learning new remote.
  • Learning button not pressed correctly.
  • Remote control not transmitting.
  • Receiver memory full (unlikely for learning code, but possible).
  • Ensure learning button is pressed and indicator light is on.
  • Check remote battery and functionality.
  • Try deleting all existing remotes (Section 4.3) and then re-pairing.
