4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Radio
The PRUNUS J-555 offers two power sources: a built-in rechargeable lithium battery and external AAA batteries.
- Selecting Power Source: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio. Locate the power selector switch inside.
- Move the switch to the right for the built-in rechargeable battery.
- Move the switch to the left to use 2 x AAA batteries (not included). Ensure AAA batteries are inserted with correct polarity.

4.2 Charging the Built-in Battery
To charge the built-in 800mAh rechargeable battery:
- Ensure the power selector switch is set to the built-in rechargeable battery mode.
- Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the USB-C port on the radio.
- Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection
- Locate the AM/FM/OFF switch on the side of the radio.
- Slide the switch to 'FM' for FM radio or 'AM' for AM radio.
- To turn off the radio, slide the switch to 'OFF'.
5.2 Tuning to a Station
- Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal reception.
- Rotate the tuning knob on the side of the radio to scan for stations.
- The tuning indicator light will illuminate when a stable frequency is found.

5.3 Adjusting Volume
Rotate the volume knob, located next to the tuning knob, to increase or decrease the audio output.
5.4 Using the Headphone Jack
For private listening, plug any standard 3.5mm headphones (not included) into the headphone jack on the side of the radio.

To activate the built-in flashlight, locate the flashlight switch on the side of the radio and slide it to the 'ON' position. Slide it back to 'OFF' to turn it off.
