Operating Instructions
Boiling Water and Brewing Tea
- Ensure the kettle is filled with water and the teapot with tea leaves is placed on top, as per setup instructions.
- Press the power button on the power base. The display will show the current temperature.
- Select the desired boiling temperature (e.g., 100°C for boiling water). The appliance will begin heating the water.
- Once the water reaches the boiling point, it will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function, maintaining the water at a lower temperature (e.g., 95°C).
- Pour a small amount of the freshly boiled water from the kettle into the teapot to steep the tea leaves. Allow the tea to steep for 15-20 minutes, or longer for a stronger concentrate.
- To serve, pour the tea concentrate from the teapot into a glass, then dilute with hot water from the kettle's tap to your preferred strength.

Keep Warm Function
The Arzum TeaCharm automatically activates a "Keep Warm" function after boiling, maintaining the water temperature at approximately 95°C. This ensures your tea water is always ready for serving without re-boiling.
Using the Kettle Separately
The 1.8L stainless steel kettle can be used independently to boil water. Simply remove the teapot, fill the kettle with water, and operate as described above. The auto shut-off and boil-dry protection features will still function.

Care & Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Kettle & Teapot: Wash the interior of the kettle and the teapot with warm, soapy water. Use a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Infuser: Remove tea leaves and wash the stainless steel infuser with warm, soapy water. A small brush may be used to clean mesh holes.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and power base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do NOT immerse the power base in water or any other liquid.
Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. This can affect performance. Descale regularly (e.g., monthly or bi-monthly) using a commercial descaling solution or a natural method:
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or follow descaling solution instructions).
- Boil the mixture and let it stand for at least 30 minutes (or as per descaling solution instructions).
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water to remove any residue and odor.
- If necessary, repeat the process.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not working; appliance not correctly placed on base. | Ensure plug is securely in outlet; check outlet with another appliance; ensure kettle is properly seated on the power base. |
| Water not boiling or heating slowly. | Limescale buildup; insufficient power. | Descale the kettle (see "Descaling" section); ensure appliance is plugged into a dedicated 120V outlet. |
| Water overflowing during boiling. | Kettle is overfilled. | Do not fill water above the MAX line indicated inside the kettle. |
| Tea tastes weak or too strong. | Incorrect tea-to-water ratio; steeping time too short/long. | Adjust the amount of tea leaves and steeping time to your preference. |
| Appliance emits unusual odor. | New appliance odor (normal for first few uses); burnt residue. | Run several cycles with fresh water and discard; clean the interior thoroughly. If odor persists or is strong, discontinue use and contact support. |
