2. Safety Information
- Waterproof Integrity: Ensure all covers (battery compartment, USB port) are securely closed before exposing the camera to water. Failure to do so will compromise its waterproof capabilities and may cause damage.
- Temperature: Avoid using or storing the camera in extreme temperatures.
- Cleaning: After use in saltwater, rinse the camera with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Do not use chemical cleaners.
- Battery: The camera contains a built-in lithium-ion battery. Do not attempt to replace it yourself. Dispose of the camera and battery according to local regulations.
- Impact: While durable, avoid dropping or subjecting the camera to severe impacts, which could damage internal components or compromise its waterproof seal.

5. Setup
5.1. Charging the Battery
The camera has a built-in lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery.
- Open the waterproof cover on the side/bottom of the camera (refer to Figure 4.3).
- Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the camera's USB Type-C port.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
- The charging indicator will illuminate. Once charging is complete, the indicator will change or turn off.
- Disconnect the cable and securely close the waterproof cover.
5.2. Inserting a MicroSD Card
A MicroSD card (up to 128GB) is required to store photos and videos.
- Open the waterproof cover (refer to Figure 4.3).
- Insert the MicroSD card into the card slot with the metal contacts facing the correct direction (usually downwards or towards the front of the camera). Push until it clicks into place.
- To remove, push the card in again until it springs out slightly, then pull it out.
- Securely close the waterproof cover after inserting or removing the card.
5.3. Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the top or side) for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again until the screen turns off.
6. Operating the Camera
6.1. Taking Photos
The camera operates primarily in an automatic mode for ease of use.
- Power on the camera. It will typically start in photo mode.
- Frame your shot using either the rear 2.9-inch screen or the front 1.4-inch screen for selfies.
- Press the Shutter button (usually on the top) halfway down to allow the camera to focus (if in autofocus mode).
- Press the Shutter button fully down to capture the image.

6.2. Recording Videos
Switch to video mode to capture moving images.
- Press the Mode button (refer to camera overview for location) to switch to video recording mode.
- Press the Shutter button to start recording. A red indicator or timer will appear on the screen.
- Press the Shutter button again to stop recording.

6.3. Using the Dual Screens
The WP9500BK features a 2.9-inch rear screen and a 1.4-inch front screen.
- The rear screen is for general photography, video recording, and menu navigation.
- The front screen is ideal for self-portraits (selfies) or group photos where you want to be in the frame.
- Switching between screens is typically done via a dedicated button or a menu option. Consult the on-screen interface for specific instructions.
6.4. Digital Zoom
The camera features a 4.4x digital zoom.
- Use the Zoom buttons (often marked 'W' for wide and 'T' for telephoto) to zoom in or out digitally.
- Note that digital zoom interpolates pixels, which may result in a slight reduction in image quality compared to optical zoom.
7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning the Camera
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera body and screens.
- For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
- Use a lens brush or air blower to remove dust from the lens. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
7.2. Waterproof Care
To maintain the camera's IP68 waterproof rating:
- Always ensure the battery/memory card cover is clean and free of debris before closing.
- After using the camera in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. Do not open any covers until the camera is completely dry.
- Dry the camera with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely before storing.
- Regularly inspect the rubber seals around the covers for any signs of damage or wear.
