Congratulations on your new Frameo photo frame! If you are new to using Frameo, start by following the quick setup or the on-screen guide when powering it on for the first time. Once your Frameo frame is set up, you can start connecting it to your friends and family.
Hardware Overview
The digital photo frame has the following components:
- 1 Touch Screen: The primary interface for interacting with the frame.
- 2 Frame: The physical housing of the digital photo frame.
- 3 Motion Sensor: Detects movement to potentially activate the frame or adjust settings.
- 4 Power Button: Used to turn the frame on/off or access the power menu.
- 5 Bracket/Stand: A support to place the frame upright on a surface.
- 6 Wall Mount Hole: An opening for mounting the frame on a wall.
- 7 Speaker: Outputs audio for videos or system sounds.
- 8 Reset Button: A small, recessed button used to reset the frame to its factory settings.
- 9 USB Type C: A modern USB port for power or data transfer.
- 11 Memory Card Slot: For inserting microSD cards to import/export photos.
- 12 DC IN: The port for connecting the power adapter.
Getting Started
Frameo App
To send photos to your frame, download the Frameo app for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play. Scan the provided QR code to easily find the app.
Frameo Quick Setup
When starting your frame for the first time, you will need to complete the setup:
- Select your preferred language.
- Connect your frame to the internet via Wi-Fi.
- Verify or correct the date and time.
- Update the frame to the latest version if prompted.
- Enter your name and the location of the frame (e.g., "Living Room").
- Set the correct timezone.

Navigating Your Frameo
Swipe left or right to browse through photos. Tap the screen once to access the menu.
Frameo Menu Functions
- Add Friend: Generates a unique code to share with friends and family so they can connect and send photos to your frame.
- Settings: Accesses various customization options.
- Power Menu: Allows you to power off (⏻), restart (?), or enter sleep mode (?). Use the power button or the menu option to shut down the frame; never disconnect power while it is running.
- React: (Can also be accessed by double-tapping the screen).
- Hide Photo: Hides the current photo from the slideshow. It can be shown again via the settings menu.
- Gallery: Provides easy and fast navigation through your photos.
- Fit to Frame / Fill Frame: Toggles how photos are displayed. 'Fill Frame' scales the photo to fill the screen, centering on the most important part. 'Fit to Frame' displays the entire photo, potentially with black bars.
- Adjust Photo: Allows fine-tuning the photo's position and rotation, and editing captions for imported photos. For received photos, ask the sender to edit captions.
- Interacting with Videos: When a video plays, controls for play/pause and volume are available.
Settings
Personalize your frame through the settings menu.
My Frame
- Frame Name: Change the name displayed in the app for connected friends and family.
- Frame Location: Set the location of the frame, which helps distinguish it from others in the app.
Display
- Brightness Level: Adjust screen brightness.
- Slideshow Timer: Set how long each photo is displayed.
- Show Caption: Toggle the display of captions sent with photos.
- Fill Frame: Set the default photo display mode.
- Frame Background: Choose background options for when photos don't fill the screen.
- Photo Display Order: Set the order for photos (by date taken, date received, or shuffle).
- Reverse Photo Display Order: Change between newest-to-oldest or oldest-to-newest display.
- Autoplay: Enable/disable automatic video playback in the slideshow.
- Video Playback: Configure video playback (loop, play once, play once and continue).
Wi-Fi
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network (?). If a captive portal is detected, you will be prompted to log in.
- Wi-Fi Details: View current connection information.
- Reset Wi-Fi: Delete all Wi-Fi information and restart the frame.
Notifications
- Show Notifications: Enable/disable slideshow notifications (e.g., when a new photo arrives).
Backup and Restore
- Backup Frame to External Storage: Create a backup of photos, friends, and settings to a microSD card. Existing backups will be overwritten.
- Automatic Backup: Automatically backs up the frame within 30 hours of new photos or settings changes.
- Restore from Backup: Restore the frame using a backup from external storage. Ensure the backup is up-to-date. The frame may need to be reset first.
- Reset Frame: Permanently deletes all data (photos, friends, settings) from the frame.

Safety and Maintenance
Warning Symbols:
- The exclamation point ❗ in a triangle indicates important instructions.
- The lightning flash ⚡ symbol indicates dangerous voltage inside the unit.
General Precautions:
- For indoor use only. Avoid dust and humidity.
- Do not use outdoors, in direct sunlight, or near heat sources.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Repairs must be performed by qualified personnel.
- Never open the digital frame housing to avoid electric shock.
- Do not touch internal parts if the device has been dropped or damaged.
- Ensure ventilation holes on the back are not blocked to prevent overheating.
- Unplug the frame if it malfunctions or is unused for extended periods.
- Use only approved cleaning products (mild, non-abrasive cloth recommended for the LCD screen). Avoid alcohol, gasoline, or organic solvents.
- Use only the provided power adapter or a compatible replacement.
- Power off the unit before inserting or removing cards/USB devices.
- Use the memory card slot's pop-up button to remove memory cards.
