PREPARATION BEFORE USE

Lithium battery installation

Please install the lithium battery supplied with the camera before using it according to the following instructions.

  1. Slide the battery cover on the bottom of the camera to the left to access the battery compartment.
  2. Install the battery in the correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery cover and slide it to the left to lock it in place.

Note: Please remove the battery if you are not going to use the camera for a while.

Lithium battery charging

To recharge the lithium battery, connect the camera (without removing the battery) to your computer using the USB cable provided in the box. The red LED on the back of the camera will light up to indicate that the battery is being charged, and will turn off when fully charged. You can also charge the lithium battery by connecting the camera to AC power if you have an adapter to which you can connect the USB cable.

Computer system requirements

Windows 7/XP3

If you want to transfer photos and videos to a Windows 7/XP3 computer, the computer must be set up as follows:

Memory card installation

The camera supports micro SD memory cards up to 128 GB (not included). The internal memory can only store one photo for test purposes. Insert a micro SD card into the micro SD card slot (located below the lithium battery slot) until it clicks into place. A micro SD card icon will appear on the LCD screen when detected. To remove the card, press it firmly to eject.

Notes:

  1. All photos and videos are saved to the micro SD card.
  2. Formatting deletes all data on the memory card.
  3. Do not remove the micro SD card during formatting to avoid damage.

Turning the camera on and off

Turning on the camera

Press the power key on the top of the camera. The LCD screen will turn on.

Turning off the camera

Press the power key again. If the battery level is insufficient, a red icon [low battery] will display on the LCD screen, and the camera will turn off automatically.

PHOTO MODE

Once the camera is turned on, the ? icon will appear on the LCD screen, indicating that photo mode is activated.

Switching between screens

Press the screen change key next to the power key to switch between the 1.8" front screen and the 2.7" rear screen.

Photo shooting

Press the shutter key on the top of the camera to take a picture. The number of remaining photos will be displayed on the screen. A message appears when the memory card is full. Transfer data or insert a new card.

Digital zoom

Enlarge the object up to 16 times. Press the (T) key to zoom in and the (W) key to zoom out. The icons W and T will be displayed on the LCD screen.

Photo mode settings

The camera has 18 adjustable settings: Flash, Scenes, Image resolution, Anti-Shake, Face detection, Continuous shooting, Self-timer, EV, ISO, White balance, Sharpness, Quality, Effects, auto power off, Sound, Date/Time, Frequency, Memory card formatting.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the setting.

Built-in flash

Press the Flash key to activate three flash modes. Select the ⚡ (A) icon for Auto Flash (activates automatically in low light). Select the ⚡ icon for manual flash (remains active until turned off). Select the ❌ icon to turn the flash off.

Scenes

Choose scenes to adapt shooting to the environment: Auto, Scenery, Portrait, Night scenery, Night portrait, High sensitivity, Sport, Beach, Party.

  1. Press the power key to turn on the camera. The ? icon will be displayed in the upper left corner of the LCD screen.
  2. Press the SET key (✅).
  3. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the scene icon.
  4. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the desired scene.
  5. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Image resolution selection

Available resolutions: (48M) 8000x6000, (30M) 6400x4800, (24M) 5600x4200, (20M) 5200x3900, (16M) 4608x3456, (12M) 4000x3000, (8M) 3264x2448, (7MHD) 3648x2048, (5M) 2592x1944, (3M) 2048x1536, (2MHD) 1920x1080.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the MP icon.
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the desired resolution.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) to confirm.
  5. The selected resolution icon will appear on the LCD screen.

Image quality

Adjust overall photo quality: Normal, Fine, Super fine.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Image quality".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select Normal / Fine / Super fine.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  5. The corresponding icon will be displayed on the LCD screen.

Self-timer

Takes pictures a few seconds after the shutter key is pressed. Recommended for group shots with a tripod or stable surface.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the ⏱️ icon.
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select duration: 2 sec. / 5 sec. / 10 sec. / Off (❌).
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  5. The selected self-timer icon will be displayed on the LCD screen.

Note: This function switches off automatically after each use.

Anti-shake

Stabilizes shooting to avoid blurry pictures.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the ✋ icon.
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: On / Off (❌).
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  5. The ✋ icon will be displayed on the LCD screen when activated.

Face detection

Activate face detection.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the ? icon.
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: On / Off (❌).
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Continuous shooting

Take up to 6 pictures in quick succession (VGA image size only) after pressing the shutter key once.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the [continuous shooting] icon.
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: On / Off (❌).
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Note: Image resolution automatically switches to VGA. A message "Continue without continuous shooting" may appear if the image size is not VGA.

White balance

Modify photo colors according to the light source: Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "White balance".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the desired setting.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Camera Settings

Color effect

Apply effects to photos: Standard, Sepia, Monochrome, Vivid.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Color effect".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the desired effect.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Sharpness

Adjust photo sharpness: Sharp, Common, Soft.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Sharpness".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select Sharp / Common / Soft.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Exposure

Adjust brightness: from +3 to -3.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Exposure (EV)".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select an exposure value.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  5. The exposure icon will be displayed on the LCD screen.

ISO

Recommended for low brightness and when flash is not possible: Auto, 100, 200, 400.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "ISO".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select an ISO value.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  5. The ISO icon will be displayed on the LCD screen.

Metering

Adjust the metering point: Center, Multi, Spot.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Metering".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select the desired metering.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Language

The camera supports multiple languages. Select your preferred language.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Language".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select your language.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Date/Time

Set system date and time to be displayed on photos.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Date/Time".
  3. Select: On (display date on photo), Off (no date), or Date Setup (set system date).
  4. For Date Setup: Press SET (✅) to enter the menu. Use Left/Right (◀️/▶️) to highlight Year/Month/Date/Hour/Minute/Second/AM. Use Up/Down (?/?) to set the values. Press SET (✅) to confirm.

Silent mode

Turn camera sound on or off.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Silent mode".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: On / Off (❌).
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Auto power off

Set auto power off duration: 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, or Disable (❌).

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Auto power off".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select a duration.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Note: If disabled, the camera will not turn off until manually switched off or the battery is depleted.

Frequency

Set power frequency: 50Hz / 60Hz.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Frequency".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select 50Hz or 60Hz.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.

Format memory card

Erase all photos and videos from the memory card.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Format memory card".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select: Yes / No (❌).
  4. If No (❌), press SET (✅) to return to photo mode.
  5. If Yes, press SET (✅) to start formatting.

Note: Formatting permanently deletes all files. Transfer important files to your computer before formatting.

Default setting

Reset camera settings to factory defaults.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Default setting".
  3. Press the SET key (✅) to enter the submenu.
  4. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select: Yes / No (❌).
  5. If No (❌), press SET (✅) to return to photo mode.
  6. If Yes, press SET (✅) to restore default settings.

Note: All previously defined settings will be lost.

VIDEO RECORDING MODE

Press the MODE key to select video recording mode, then press the shutter key to start. The ▶️ icon and elapsed recording time will be displayed on the LCD screen. A flashing red dot will also appear, indicating recording is in progress.

PLAYBACK MODE

View photos and videos stored on the memory card. You can rotate, protect, delete, print, and start a slideshow.

To activate playback mode, press the MODE key. A ▶️ icon will appear on the LCD screen.

Slide show playback

Choose how long each photo is displayed during slideshow viewing.

  1. Press the SET key (✅).
  2. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Slide show".
  3. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select viewing time: 3 sec / 5 sec / 10 sec.
  4. Press the SET key (✅) to confirm and launch the slideshow.

Playback mode functions

Select a photo to rotate, protect, delete, or print.

Delete

Delete unwanted photos and videos to free up memory. Delete file by file or all unprotected files. In photo/video recording mode, press the Delete key (or Left key) to delete the last photo/video.

In playback mode:

  1. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select a file.
  2. Press the SET key (✅).
  3. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Delete".
  4. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select: "Delete this photo?" / "Delete all images?" / "Cancel".
  5. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  6. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: Yes / No (❌).
  7. If No (❌), press SET (✅) to return to playback mode.
  8. If Yes, press SET (✅) to confirm deletion.

Rotate

Rotate photos.

  1. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select a file.
  2. Press the SET key (✅).
  3. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select a photo and press SET (✅).
  4. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select a rotation angle: 90°, 180°, 270°, or Cancel.
  5. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm rotation.

Note: The message "Saving" will appear on the LCD screen after pressing SET.

Protect/Lock

Protect photos/videos from accidental deletion.

  1. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select a file.
  2. Press the SET key (✅).
  3. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select "Protect/Lock".
  4. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to choose: Lock this photo / Unlock this photo / Lock all images / Unlock all images.
  5. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  6. A lock icon (?) will be displayed on the screen for each protected file.

Print

Print photos using any printer with PictBridge function.

  1. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the photo to print.
  2. Press the SET key (✅).
  3. Press the Left/Right keys (◀️/▶️) to select the print icon ?️.
  4. Press the Up/Down keys (?/?) to select: Print / Cancel.
  5. Press the SET key (✅) again to confirm.
  6. If wireless printing fails, connect the camera to your printer via USB cable.

Video files playing

Select an AVI video file and press the shutter key to play. Press the shutter key again to pause.

Uploading photos and videos on your computer

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Select the playback mode.
  3. Connect the camera to your computer with the supplied USB cable.
  4. A removable disk window will appear on your computer screen.
  5. Click on "Open folder to view files". Pictures will be stored in the DCIM subfolder.
  6. Copy and paste the photos into your desired folder on your computer.

Windows Removable Disk Window Description:

The window typically shows options like "Print the pictures", "View a slideshow of the images", "Copy pictures to a folder on my computer", and "Open folder to view files".

COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Q: I took pictures but my computer doesn't recognize my camera. What should I do?

A: First, ensure photos were taken. Try downloading them via the USB cable. Alternatively, insert the memory card directly into your computer's card slot or use an external card slot. Verify your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

Q: How to be sure that I haven't missed any important photos?

A: Ensure there is enough space on the micro SD card. Regularly transfer files to your PC to free up memory.

Q: Will the camera work normally if I use the MAC system?

A: Yes, the camera can be used as a removable disk on Mac OSX (version 10.5.x or higher).
