1. Introduction

2. Safety Guidelines

Your safety is paramount. Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear when riding. Be aware of your surroundings and adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations. This product complies with UL-2272 standards for electrical safety.

  • Always wear a helmet and protective gear (knee pads, elbow pads).
  • Do not ride in wet conditions or on slippery surfaces.

4. Setup and Assembly

Your Gotrax Electric Scooter comes partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the setup:

  1. Unfold the Scooter: Carefully lift the handlebar stem until it locks into the upright position. Ensure the folding mechanism is securely latched.
  2. Attach the Handlebar: Connect the electrical cable from the handlebar to the main stem. Align the handlebar with the stem and secure it using the provided screws and Allen key.
  3. Connect the Brake Cable: Slide the brake cable into the brake lever mechanism on the handlebar and secure it. Ensure the brake operates smoothly.
  4. Inflate Tires: Use the provided adapter to inflate the 10-inch pneumatic tires to the recommended pressure.

5. Charging Instructions

Before your first ride, fully charge the scooter's battery. The charging time is approximately 5 hours.

  1. Locate the charging port on the scooter's deck, usually covered by a rubber flap.
  2. Open the rubber charging port cover.
  3. Insert the charging plug from the charger into the scooter's charging port.
  4. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
  5. The charger will display a red light when charging and a green light when fully charged.
  6. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger and close the rubber port cover to protect it from dust and moisture.

6. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the scooter's controls before riding.

6.1 Power On/Off & Display

To power on the scooter, long press the power button on the LCD display for 3 seconds. The display will illuminate, showing battery level, speed, and mileage. Long press again to power off.

6.2 Speed Modes

The scooter has multiple speed modes:

  • Gear 1 (P1): Up to 15.5 MPH (for 18-mile range models).
  • Gear 2 (P2): Up to 20 MPH (for 14-mile range models).

Short press the power button to toggle between speed modes.

6.3 Throttle & Brake

The thumb throttle is located on the right handlebar. Push it down to accelerate. The scooter requires a slight push-off (kick-start) before the throttle engages. The brake lever is on the left handlebar. Pull it to activate the EABS and disc brake system for sensitive and fast braking. The red taillight flashes when you brake.

6.4 Headlight & Taillight

Double press the power button to turn the front headlight on or off. The taillight automatically illuminates when the headlight is on and flashes when the brake is applied, enhancing visibility.

6.5 Cruise Control

To activate cruise control, hold the throttle down for approximately 8 seconds at your desired speed. The scooter will maintain this speed. To disengage cruise control, either press the throttle again or apply the brake.

7. Folding and Unfolding

The Gotrax Electric Scooter features a convenient one-step folding system for easy storage and portability.

7.1 Folding

  1. Ensure the scooter is powered off.
  2. Locate the red lever near the base of the handlebar stem.
  3. Pull the red lever outwards and push the handlebar stem downwards until it clicks into place, securing it to the rear fender.

7.2 Unfolding

  1. Release the handlebar stem from the rear fender by gently pushing the stem forward and disengaging the hook.
  2. Lift the handlebar stem upwards until it locks securely into the riding position. Ensure the red lever is fully engaged.

8. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your scooter.

  • Regularly check tire pressure (10-inch pneumatic tires).
