Introduction

The PETULTRA Automatic Cat Feeder is designed to provide scheduled meals for your pet, ensuring consistent feeding habits. This device features WiFi connectivity for remote control via a mobile application, dual power supply options, and an anti-clog design. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your feeder.

1. Setup

1.1 Unboxing and Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The feeder consists of a base unit, food tank, lid, and food bowl. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

1.2 Power Supply

The feeder supports dual power supply: a 5V DC adapter and 3 D-cell batteries (not included). It is recommended to use the DC adapter for daily operation and install batteries as a backup in case of power outages.

  • Connect the 5V DC adapter to the feeder and a power outlet.
  • To install backup batteries, open the battery compartment at the bottom of the feeder and insert 3 D-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

1.3 App Installation and WiFi Connection

The PETULTRA feeder connects to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi networks for stable remote control.

  7. Add Device in App: Log in to the PetTech app and tap "Add Device". You can choose "Automatic Connect" or "Add Manually" (select "Pet Feeder (2.4GHz & 5GHz)").

  9. Enter WiFi Information: Enter your WiFi network name and password. Ensure the password does not contain special characters.

  11. Connect: The app will connect to the feeder. Once successful, tap "Done".

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Manual Feeding

You can dispense food manually using the physical button on the feeder or through the app.

  • Physical Button: Press the "FEED" button once to dispense one portion when the device is unlocked. The device auto-locks after 30 seconds of inactivity. Press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds to unlock/lock the device.
  • Via App: In the PetTech app, select the desired number of portions and tap "Feed" for immediate dispensing.

2.2 Setting a Feeding Schedule

The PetTech app allows you to customize up to 10 daily meals with portions ranging from 1 to 20 per meal.

  1. In the app, navigate to the "Meal Plan" section.
  2. Tap "Add" to create a new feeding schedule.
  3. Set the feeding time, select the feeding days (green indicates selected days), and choose the number of portions.
  4. Tap "Save" to activate the schedule.

2.3 Reviewing Feeding Logs

The app maintains a record of all dispensed meals, allowing you to monitor your pet's feeding history.

  • Access the "Feed Record" section in the app to view past feeding times and dispensed portions.

2.4 Portion Setting Reference

Use the following table as a reference for setting appropriate portion sizes. Note that 1 portion equals approximately 1 tablespoon.

2.5 Food Compatibility

The feeder is designed for dry kibble sizes between 2-10mm (0.07-0.4 inches). Do not use wet food or kibble larger than 0.4 inches to prevent jamming.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning Instructions

Regular cleaning ensures hygiene for your pet. The lid, food tank, and food bowl are detachable and made of BPA-free and stainless steel materials for easy cleaning.

  • Detach the lid, food tank, and food bowl from the base unit.
  • Wash these detachable parts by hand with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Important: Do not wash the feeder base. Wipe the base with a damp cloth if necessary.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.

3.2 Desiccant Bag

The feeder includes a desiccant bag located in the lid to help keep the food fresh and dry. Replace the desiccant bag periodically (e.g., monthly) for optimal freshness.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 WiFi Connection Issues

  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz or 5GHz signal.
  • Verify your WiFi password is correct and does not contain special characters.
  • Move the feeder closer to your WiFi router to improve signal strength.
  • Restart your router and the feeder, then attempt to reconnect.

4.2 Food Dispensing Problems

  • Check if the food tank is empty.
  • Ensure the kibble size is within the recommended range (2-10mm / 0.07-0.4 inches) to prevent jamming.
  • Inspect the dispensing mechanism for any obstructions.

4.3 Feeder Not Responding

  • Verify the power adapter is securely connected and the outlet is functional.
  • Check if the backup batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge.
  • If the device is locked, press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds to unlock it.

4.4 Resetting the Device

To restore factory settings, press and hold the "SET" button for 6 seconds until you hear a "ding-ding" sound.
