4. Setup

  1. Initial Charge: Before first use, fully charge the radio using the provided USB-C cable. Refer to Section 6 for detailed charging instructions.
  2. Extend Antenna: For optimal reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna.
  3. Power On: Rotate the volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control

  1. To turn the radio ON, rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise.
  2. To adjust the volume, continue rotating the VOLUME knob. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases volume.
  3. To turn the radio OFF, rotate the VOLUME knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.

5.2 Band Selection

The radio supports FM, AM, and SW bands.

  1. Locate the FM/AM/SW switch on the side of the radio.
  2. Slide the switch to select your desired band: FM, AM, or SW.

5.3 Tuning to a Station

  1. Extend the telescopic antenna fully for best reception.
  2. Select the desired band (FM, AM, or SW) using the band switch.
  3. Rotate the TUNING knob on the side of the radio to scan for stations. The frequency display will indicate the current frequency.
  4. Adjust the tuning knob slowly until you find a clear signal.

5.4 Headphone Use

For private listening, connect 3.5mm headphones to the earphone jack.

  1. Locate the 3.5mm Earphone Jack on the side of the radio.
  2. Insert your headphones into the jack. The internal speaker will automatically mute.
  3. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob.

6. Charging the Radio

The PRUNUS J-167 radio features a built-in rechargeable battery and charges via a USB-C port.

  1. Locate the USB-C Charging Port (DC 5V) on the side of the radio.
  2. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio's charging port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port, power bank).
  4. A red charging indicator light will illuminate during charging. The light will turn off or change color (depending on the specific unit) when fully charged.
  5. A full charge provides approximately 140 minutes of playtime at maximum volume.

7. Maintenance
