3. Product Features
3.1. Ocean Star Design
The keyboard features a unique aesthetic with dark blue, light blue, and white PBT keycaps, inspired by ocean waves. This design provides a visually appealing and distinct look.
3.2. Multiple Connection Modes
Equipped with a Beken multi-modes controller chip, the keyboard supports three connection types: 2.4Ghz wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C wired. This allows for seamless switching between multiple devices and operating systems.

3.3. PBT Keycaps & Hot-Swappable Switches
The keyboard comes with durable Akko ASA profile PBT double-shot keycaps, known for their resistance to wear and vibrant legends. It also features premium gaming 5-pin hot-swappable sockets with plate foam, enabling users to easily replace switches without soldering. The pre-installed Akko V3 Pro Cream Yellow switches offer improved conductivity with alloy copper and palladium gold contacts.

3.4. Custom RGB Backlighting
The keyboard features built-in RGB backlighting with customizable light animation effects. Per-key RGB is supported and can be configured through the Akko Cloud driver software.

3.5. Mac & Windows Compatibility
The Akko 3098B supports both Windows and Mac operating systems, with an easy switch located on the back of the keyboard for seamless transition between environments.
3.6. Adjustable Feet

4. Setup
4.1. Wired Connection
- Locate the USB-C port on the keyboard.
- Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard and the other end to an available USB-A port on your computer.
- Ensure the mode switch on the back of the keyboard is set to 'USB'.
- The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.
4.2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection
- Plug the 2.4GHz wireless dongle into an available USB-A port on your computer.
- Ensure the mode switch on the back of the keyboard is set to '2.4G'.
- The keyboard should automatically connect to the dongle. If not, press and hold Fn + F1 for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.
4.3. Bluetooth Connection
- Ensure the mode switch on the back of the keyboard is set to 'Bluetooth'.
- On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
- The keyboard will appear as 'Akko 3098B'. Select it to pair.
- For multi-device Bluetooth pairing, the keyboard supports up to three Bluetooth devices. Press and hold Fn + E/R/T for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode for Bluetooth device 1, 2, or 3 respectively. The indicator light will flash rapidly. Once paired, the light will become solid.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Function Key Combinations
The Akko 3098B keyboard utilizes the Fn key for various secondary functions:
- Fn + F1-F12: Multimedia controls (e.g., volume, play/pause, track skip). Specific functions may vary.
- Fn + Win: Locks/unlocks the Windows key.
- Fn + Left Ctrl: Switches between Mac and Windows layout (if applicable, in addition to the physical switch).
- Fn + Backspace: Toggles RGB lighting effects.
- Fn + Arrow Keys: Adjusts RGB brightness and speed.
- Fn + Q/W/E: Switches between paired Bluetooth devices (Q for BT1, W for BT2, E for BT3).
- Fn + R: Switches to 2.4G wireless mode.
- Fn + T: Switches to wired mode.
5.2. RGB Customization
The keyboard's RGB lighting can be customized using the Akko Cloud driver software. This software allows for per-key RGB customization, creation of custom light animation effects, and remapping of all keys.

5.3. Switching Operating Systems
A physical switch on the back of the keyboard allows you to toggle between Mac and Windows compatibility modes. Ensure the switch is set to the correct operating system for optimal functionality.
5.4. Adjusting Keyboard Height
The keyboard features two-stage adjustable feet. Flip out the feet to achieve your desired typing angle. There are three available height levels.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
To clean your keyboard:
- Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
- Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- For keycap cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water. Ensure keycaps are completely dry before reattaching.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6.2. Keycap and Switch Replacement
The Akko 3098B is hot-swappable, allowing for easy replacement of keycaps and switches.
- Keycap Removal: Use the provided keycap puller to gently pull keycaps straight up.
- Switch Removal: Use the provided switch puller to grasp the top and bottom clips of the switch and gently pull it straight up.
- Switch Installation: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
- Keycap Installation: Align the keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it is seated.
7. Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding: Ensure the cable is securely connected (wired mode), the dongle is properly inserted (2.4G wireless mode), or Bluetooth is paired correctly. Check the mode switch on the back of the keyboard.
- Wireless connectivity issues: Ensure the keyboard battery is charged. Move the keyboard closer to the receiver/device to reduce interference. Re-pair the device if necessary.
- RGB lighting not working: Check Fn key combinations for RGB control. Ensure the Akko Cloud driver is installed and updated.
- Keys not registering: If a specific key is not working, try removing and re-inserting its switch. If the issue persists, the switch may need replacement.
- Mac/Windows mode issues: Verify the physical switch on the back of the keyboard is set to the correct operating system.
