1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your WLtoys V950 Remote Control Helicopter. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the helicopter to ensure proper function and to prevent damage or injury.
2. Safety Information
Warning: Choking Hazard - Small Parts. Keep out of reach of small children.
Always operate the helicopter in an open, clear area, away from people, animals, and obstacles. Do not fly near power lines, roads, or water. Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed before each flight. Always turn off the helicopter and transmitter when not in use. Adult supervision is recommended for beginners.

4. Setup
4.1. Battery Charging
- Connect the 11.1V 1500mAh Li-po battery to the provided USB charger.
- Plug the USB charger into a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
- The charging indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Refer to the charger's specific instructions for light indications.
- Charging time is approximately 60-120 minutes. Do not overcharge the battery.
4.2. Transmitter Battery Installation
The transmitter requires 4 x 1.5V AA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the transmitter and insert the batteries, observing correct polarity.
4.3. Helicopter Battery Installation
Carefully insert the charged 11.1V 1500mAh Li-po battery into the helicopter's battery compartment and secure it. Ensure the battery is firmly in place to prevent movement during flight.
4.4. Binding the Transmitter and Helicopter
- Ensure both the helicopter and transmitter are powered off.
- Turn on the transmitter.
- Connect the helicopter battery. The helicopter's indicator light will flash.
- Move the throttle stick (left stick) to its lowest position, then quickly move it to the highest position and back to the lowest position.
- The helicopter's indicator light will become solid, indicating successful binding.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Transmitter Overview

The transmitter features a 2.4GHz 6-channel control system. Key controls include:
- Left Stick: Controls throttle (up/down) and rudder (left/right rotation).
- Right Stick: Controls elevator (forward/backward) and aileron (left/right side flight).
- Digital Trims: Fine-tune helicopter stability for throttle, elevator, rudder, and aileron.
- Trick Switch (IDLE): Activates 3D aerobatic flight mode.
- Throttle Hold Switch: Cuts power to the main motor for safety during adjustments or emergencies.
- Mode Selection: Switches between 3D and 6G flight modes.
5.2. Flight Modes: 3D vs. 6G

- 6G Mode (High Precision 6-Axis Gyro): This mode provides high stability, making it suitable for beginners. The helicopter maintains a steady flight path, simplifying control. In 6G mode, the helicopter can only fly in parallel and cannot perform complex maneuvers like lifts or rolls. The hover function is available in 6G mode.
- 3D Mode (3-Axis Gyro): This mode offers sensitive and flexible control, ideal for experienced pilots performing aerobatic flights. After switching to 3D mode, activate the IDLE rocker for advanced maneuvers. Beginners are advised to become proficient in 6G mode before attempting 3D flight.
5.3. Basic Flight Operations
- Take-off: After binding, slowly increase the throttle (left stick up) until the helicopter lifts off the ground.
- Hovering: Adjust the throttle to maintain a stable altitude. Use the right stick for minor positional adjustments.
- Forward/Backward Flight: Push the right stick forward or pull it backward.
- Side Flight: Push the right stick left or right.
- Turning: Push the left stick left or right to rotate the helicopter.
- Landing: Slowly decrease the throttle (left stick down) until the helicopter gently touches down.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the helicopter with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using water or solvents, as these can damage electronic components. Ensure no dust or debris accumulates in the motor or rotor mechanisms.
6.2. Storage
When not in use, store the helicopter and its components in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods. Store Li-po batteries at a storage charge (around 3.8V per cell) if possible, and never fully discharged or fully charged for long-term storage.
6.3. Part Replacement
The WLtoys V950 is designed with replaceable parts. If components such as main blades, tail blades, or main gears become damaged, use the provided spare parts or purchase genuine WLtoys replacements. Refer to the assembly diagrams (if provided separately) for detailed replacement procedures.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Helicopter does not respond to transmitter. | Not bound, low battery, transmitter off. | Ensure both are powered on. Re-bind the helicopter and transmitter. Check and charge batteries. |
| Helicopter flies erratically or unstable. | Damaged blades, incorrect trim settings, strong wind. | Check for damaged blades and replace if necessary. Adjust digital trims. Fly in calm conditions. Ensure 6G mode is selected for stable flight. |
| Short flight time. | Battery not fully charged, aging battery. | Ensure battery is fully charged. Consider replacing the battery if it's old or damaged. |
| Motor not spinning. | Throttle hold active, motor damage, wiring issue. | Deactivate throttle hold. Check for visible damage or loose connections. Contact support if issues persist. |
