4. Setup and Installation

The Sygonix SY-4760956 is designed for screw-mounted, embedded installation. It can be installed outdoors due to its IP66 rating.

4.1 Mounting the Keypad

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location: Choose a suitable location for embedded installation. Ensure there is enough space behind the wall or surface for the mounting box and wiring.
  2. Cut the Opening: Carefully cut an opening in the wall or surface according to the dimensions of the embedded mounting box (approximately 2.5 x 7 x 11.5 cm).
  3. Secure the Mounting Box: Insert the mounting box into the prepared opening and secure it using appropriate fasteners.
  4. Attach the Keypad: Connect the wiring harness (see Section 4.2) and then secure the keypad unit to the mounting box using the provided screws.

4.2 Wiring Connections

The keypad requires a 12V/DC to 18V/DC power supply. The multi-colored wires from the keypad harness must be connected to your access control system and power supply. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with your specific access control system for detailed connections. Common connections include:

  • Power: Connect to a stable 12V/DC or 18V/DC power source.

5. Operating Instructions

  2. Present the included Master Card to the keypad to enter programming mode. The indicator light will change, and an audible signal may sound.
  3. Follow the specific programming steps in your full instruction manual (if provided) to set up administrator PINs and register user cards/PINs.

5.2 User Management

The system allows for 1000 total access authorizations:

  • 990 Permanent Users: For regular access via PIN or RFID card.
  • 10 Guest Users: For temporary access, which can be easily added or removed.

5.3 Accessing the Controlled Area

  • PIN Access: Enter your assigned PIN code followed by the '#' key.
  • RFID Card Access: Present your registered RFID card to the keypad.
  • PIN + RFID Card Access: Present your registered RFID card, then enter your assigned PIN code followed by the '#' key.

Upon successful authentication, the indicator light will typically turn green, and the lock will disengage for a preset duration. An audible signal will confirm access.

5.4 Anti-Tamper Function

The integrated LDR (Photoresistor) detects attempts to tamper with the device. If tampering is detected, an alarm may be triggered, and the system may enter a lockout state. This feature enhances security against unauthorized physical interference.
