Setup

1. Power Connection

The Westclox Simple Digital Alarm Clock operates on corded electric power. Plug the attached power cord into a standard 120V AC wall outlet. The LED display will illuminate, showing the default time (usually 12:00 AM).

2. Battery Backup (Optional)

For timekeeping during power outages, this alarm clock features a battery backup compartment. Batteries are NOT included. To install batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert the required batteries (refer to the compartment for battery type, typically AAA or AA) ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The battery backup maintains time settings during power interruptions but does not power the LED display or alarm function.

1. Setting the Time

1. Press and hold the TIME button located on the top of the clock. The hour digits will begin to flash.
2. While holding the TIME button, press the HOUR button repeatedly to advance the hour. Observe the PM indicator light to ensure you set the correct AM/PM time.
3. Continue holding the TIME button and press the MIN button repeatedly to advance the minutes.
4. Release the TIME button to set the current time.

2. Setting the Alarm

This model features a single alarm setting.

1. Press and hold the ALARM button located on the top of the clock. The alarm hour digits will begin to flash.
2. While holding the ALARM button, press the HOUR button repeatedly to advance the alarm hour. Ensure the correct AM/PM is selected for the alarm.
3. Continue holding the ALARM button and press the MIN button repeatedly to advance the alarm minutes.
4. Release the ALARM button to set the alarm time.

3. Activating/Deactivating the Alarm

• To activate the alarm, press the ALARM button once (do not hold). An alarm indicator light (usually a bell icon or "AL") will appear on the display.
• To deactivate the alarm, press the ALARM button once again. The alarm indicator light will disappear.

4. Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE button on the top of the clock. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 9 minutes. You can repeat the snooze function multiple times.

5. Stopping the Alarm

To stop the alarm completely for the day, press any button other than the SNOOZE button (e.g., TIME, HOUR, MIN, or ALARM). The alarm will reset for the next day at the set time.

6. Display Brightness (Hi-Lo)

Adjust the display brightness using the HI-LO switch/button on the top of the clock. This allows you to select between a brighter (HI) and dimmer (LO) display setting for comfortable viewing in different lighting conditions.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
• Battery Replacement: If using the battery backup, replace batteries annually or when the clock fails to maintain time during a power outage.
• Storage: If storing the clock for an extended period, remove the backup batteries to prevent leakage.
