Setup

1. Battery Installation

The PRUNUS J-157 requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). To install:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
2. Slide the cover open.
3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Antenna for Reception

The radio features a hidden antenna. For improved FM reception, plug in earphones (not included) into the 3.5mm audio jack. The earphone cable will act as an external antenna.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• Press the Power button (usually marked with a circle and vertical line) to turn the radio on or off.

2. Volume Control

• Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the volume level.

3. Switching Bands (AM/FM)

• Press the AM/FM button to switch between AM and FM radio bands.

4. Tuning and Presetting Stations

The radio supports both automatic and manual station searching and saving.

Automatic Search and Save:

• Long press the SCAN button. The radio will automatically search for available AM or FM channels and save them to preset memory locations.

Manual Preset:

1. Tune to your desired station using the UP or DOWN buttons.
2. Long press the PRESET button.
3. Use the M+ or M- buttons to select the desired preset number.
4. Press the PRESET button again to confirm and save the station.

Recalling Presets:

• Briefly press the PRESET button to cycle through saved stations.

5. Lock Key Function

• To prevent accidental button presses, slide the Lock switch (usually on the side of the device) to the locked position. Slide it back to unlock.

Setting Time:

1. In standby mode, long press the TIME.SET button.
2. Use the M+ or M- buttons to adjust the hour. Press TIME.SET to confirm.
3. Use the M+ or M- buttons to adjust the minute. Press TIME.SET to confirm.
4. To switch between 12/24-hour format, press the AM/FM button during time setting.

Setting Alarm:

1. In standby mode, long press the AL.SET button.
2. Use the M+ or M- buttons to adjust the alarm hour. Press AL.SET to confirm.
3. Use the M+ or M- buttons to adjust the alarm minute. Press AL.SET to confirm.
4. To activate/deactivate the alarm, briefly press the AL.SET button. An alarm icon will appear/disappear on the display.

2. Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to automatically turn off after a set period.

• While the radio is on, repeatedly press the SLEEP button to cycle through available sleep timer durations (e.g., 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes, or OFF).
• The selected duration will be displayed briefly. The radio will automatically turn off once the timer expires.

3. LED Flashlight

• To activate the built-in LED flashlight, press the dedicated Flashlight button (often located on the side or top of the radio). Press again to turn off.

4. SOS Alarm

The SOS alarm function provides an emergency signal with a loud sound and flashing light.
