2.1. PRUNUS J-288

The J-288 features a clear digital display, volume knob, tuning knob, and dedicated buttons for mode selection (FM, BT, AM, Clock), play/pause, skip tracks, scan, lock, and numeric input for direct frequency tuning or recalling saved stations.

Similar to the J-288, the J-189 includes a digital display, volume and tuning controls, and numeric buttons for ease of use. It also features a dedicated LED flashlight button.

3.3. Common Ports

Both models typically include:

  • USB Port: For USB flash drive playback.
  • TF Card Slot: For TF/Micro SD card playback.
  • AUX Input: For connecting external audio devices.
  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack: For private listening.
  • Charging Port: For recharging the internal battery (J-288) or powering the device.

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation (J-189)

The J-189 model operates on replaceable batteries. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit, insert the required batteries (e.g., AA batteries, refer to the battery compartment for type and polarity), and close the cover securely.

4.2. Charging (J-288)

The J-288 model features a built-in rechargeable battery. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the radio and to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will illuminate. A full charge typically provides up to 10 hours of operation. The device can also be powered directly via the charging cable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

To power on the radio, long press the power button (usually marked with a power symbol). To power off, long press the same button.

5.2. Mode Selection

Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: FM Radio, AM Radio, Bluetooth, TF Card, USB Flash Drive, and AUX Input.

5.3. Volume Control

Rotate the VOLUME knob (J-288) or use the dedicated volume buttons (J-189) to adjust the sound level.

5.4. Radio Operation (AM/FM)

  1. Antenna Adjustment: Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal FM reception. For AM, the internal antenna is usually sufficient, but repositioning the radio may improve reception.

  3. Automatic Channel Search: In FM or AM mode, long press the SCAN button. The radio will automatically search for and store all available stations. Stored channels are typically assigned a program number (e.g., P01, P02).

5.6. Media Playback (TF Card/USB/AUX)

  1. TF Card/USB Playback: Insert a TF card or USB flash drive (containing MP3 files) into the respective slot. Switch the radio to TF or USB mode. The radio will automatically detect and play the audio files. Use the Previous/Next buttons to navigate tracks.
  2. AUX Input: Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUX input port using a 3.5mm audio cable. Switch the radio to AUX mode. Play audio from your external device.

5.7. Sleep Timer (J-288)

In any mode, press the SLEEP button (often labeled "CLOCK" or with a sleep icon) to set a sleep timer. You can typically choose from preset durations (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 240 minutes). The radio will automatically power off after the selected time.

5.8. Alarm Clock (J-288)

The J-288 can function as an alarm clock. Refer to the specific instructions provided with your unit for setting the time and alarm. Typically, this involves pressing and holding the CLOCK or TIME SET button, then using the hour/minute buttons to adjust.

6. Maintenance
