Please read all instructions carefully before use to ensure proper function and longevity of your product. Retain this manual for future reference.

The TOOLPORT 10x20 ft Pop-up Canopy Tent is designed for temporary outdoor shelter, offering protection from sun and light rain. It features a robust steel frame and a high-performance polyester tarpaulin with PVC coating.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Wind and snow loads have not been tested for this gazebo. Always ensure that the tent is assembled correctly and securely anchored.
  • In the case of moderate snowfall, clear the roof promptly.
  • In the case of emerging wind, use additional storm tie-down kits (not included unless specified).
  • In the case of strong winds, heavy snowfall, or heavy rainfall, it is recommended to temporarily disassemble the gazebo to prevent damage.
  • Always keep the tarpaulin away from heat sources and open flames. The material is not fireproof.
  • Ensure all frame components are fully extended and locked into place during assembly and before use.
  • Exercise caution to avoid pinching fingers or hands during assembly and disassembly due to the scissor mechanism.

4. Assembly Instructions

Assembly can typically be completed by 1-2 persons without complications. No tools are required.

  1. Unpack and Position Frame: Remove the folded frame from the carrying bag. Place the frame in the desired location for setup.
  2. Partially Expand Frame: With a person at each corner (if possible), gently pull the frame outwards to partially expand it. Do not fully extend yet.
  3. Attach Roof Tarp: Drape the roof tarp over the partially expanded frame. Ensure the tarp is correctly oriented with the peak facing upwards. Secure the tarp to the frame corners and edges using the integrated hook-and-loop fasteners or clips.
  4. Fully Expand Frame: Once the roof tarp is attached, continue to pull the frame outwards until it is fully expanded and the scissor mechanism locks into place. This may require some force. Ensure all locking pins engage securely.
  5. Adjust Height: Press the push-button on each leg and extend the legs to the desired height. Ensure all four legs are set to the same height for stability. The canopy features a 3-way adjustable click system for height.
  6. Install Sidewalls (Optional): If using sidewalls, attach them to the frame and roof tarp using the hook-and-loop fasteners or zippers provided.
  7. Anchor the Tent: Secure the canopy to the ground using the provided ground stakes and guy ropes. Attach guy ropes to the designated points on the frame and stake them firmly into the ground at an angle. This is crucial for stability, especially in windy conditions.

5. Operating the Canopy

The TOOLPORT pop-up canopy is designed for ease of use and versatility.

  • Height Adjustment: The canopy legs feature a 3-way adjustable click system, allowing you to set the canopy to your preferred height. To adjust, press the release button on each leg and slide the inner leg to the desired position until it clicks into place. Ensure all legs are adjusted evenly.
  • Sidewall Use: The included sidewalls can be attached or removed as needed to provide additional shelter from wind, sun, or for privacy. The panorama windows allow light and visibility while maintaining protection.
  • Temporary Use: This canopy is intended for temporary use. For prolonged periods or in severe weather, disassembly is recommended.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your canopy tent.

  • Cleaning the Tarpaulin: The polyester tarpaulin is washable. Clean with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as this may damage the PVC coating and waterproof properties. Allow the tarp to air dry completely before folding and storing to prevent mildew.
  • Frame Care: The steel frame is powder-coated for corrosion resistance. Periodically inspect the frame for any signs of rust or damage. Clean any dirt or debris from the frame. Lubricate moving parts of the scissor mechanism if they become stiff.
  • Storage: Before storing, ensure all components (frame, tarp, sidewalls) are clean and completely dry. Fold the frame carefully and place it, along with the tarp and sidewalls, into the provided carrying bag. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Canopy is unstable: Ensure all legs are fully extended and locked at the same height. Verify that the frame is fully expanded and all locking pins are engaged. Always use ground stakes and guy ropes to anchor the tent securely, especially in windy conditions.
  • Difficulty expanding/folding the frame: Ensure no fabric is caught in the scissor mechanism. Lubricate moving joints with a silicone-based spray if the frame is stiff. It is easier to expand and fold with two or more people.
  • Water pooling on the roof: Ensure the roof tarp is taut and properly secured to the frame. Adjust leg heights if necessary to create proper tension and allow water runoff. In heavy rain, temporary disassembly is recommended.
  • Sidewalls do not fit correctly: Ensure the sidewalls are oriented correctly and attached evenly to the frame and roof tarp. Check for any obstructions or misalignments.
