  2. GAIN: Adjusts the amount of overdrive or distortion.
  3. VOLUME: Controls the overall output level of the amplifier.
  4. TONE: Adjusts the overall tonal character, from dark to bright.

  6. DELAY ON/OFF: Activates or deactivates the built-in 'Tape' echo effect.
  7. DELAY TIME: Adjusts the delay time of the 'Tape' echo effect.

  • KENSINGTON LOCK: Security slot for attaching a Kensington lock.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Placement: Place the amplifier on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  3. Power Connection: Ensure the amplifier's power switch is in the 'OFF' position. Connect the supplied power cable to the MAINS INPUT on the rear panel and then to a suitable wall outlet.
  4. Guitar Connection: Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack on the front panel using a high-quality instrument cable.
  5. Optional Connections:
    • MP3/Line In: To play along with music, connect your MP3 player or smartphone to the MP3 / LINE IN jack using a 3.5mm stereo cable.
    • Headphones/Recording: For silent practice or direct recording, connect headphones or a recording device to the EM. OUT / PHONES jack.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On

Once all connections are made, switch the POWER button to the 'ON' position. The power indicator light will illuminate.

5.2 Clean Channel Operation

With the Overdrive button disengaged, you are in the clean channel. Adjust the VOLUME knob to control the loudness and the TONE knob to shape the brightness of your clean sound. The ISF control can further refine the clean tone's character.

5.3 Overdrive Channel Operation

Press the Overdrive button to engage the overdrive channel. Use the GAIN knob to control the amount of distortion, from a subtle crunch to a heavier drive. Adjust the VOLUME knob for the desired output level. The TONE and ISF controls remain active to sculpt your overdriven sound.

5.4 Delay Effect

To activate the built-in 'Tape' echo effect, press the DELAY ON/OFF button. Use the DELAY TIME knob to adjust the speed and repetition of the echo. Experiment with different settings to find your preferred sound.

Figure 3: MP3/Line In and Emulated Output/Phones jacks.

  • MP3/Line In: Connect an external audio source to this jack. The volume of the external audio is controlled by the source device, not the amplifier.
  • Emulated Output/Phones: This output provides a speaker-emulated signal, ideal for direct recording or silent practice with headphones. The amplifier's master volume will affect the headphone/emulated output level.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the amplifier in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Transportation: When transporting the amplifier, ensure it is securely packed to prevent physical damage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check the power cable connection at both the amplifier and the wall outlet. Ensure the power switch is 'ON'. Test the wall outlet with another device.
  • No Sound: Verify your guitar is properly connected to the INPUT. Check all volume controls (guitar, amplifier) are turned up. Ensure no headphones are connected to the EM. OUT / PHONES jack if you expect sound from the speaker. Test with a different instrument cable or guitar.
  • Unwanted Noise/Hum: Ensure all cables are securely connected. Try using a different power outlet. Keep the amplifier away from other electronic devices that might cause interference.
  • Distorted Sound (unexpectedly): Check the GAIN and VOLUME settings. If the GAIN is too high, it will naturally produce distortion. Ensure your guitar's output is not excessively high.
