  1. Prepare your Echo Device: Before setting up your Citizen Smart Wall Clock, ensure your Amazon Echo device is within 30 feet of the clock, has the latest software updates, and is working properly. Compatible Echo devices include Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Show, Echo Spot, and Echo Input. It is NOT compatible with Fire TV Cube, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Echo Dot Kids Edition, or Tap.
  2. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the clock. Push the switch inside the battery compartment up (position 12) to "AUTO". Insert 4 new C alkaline batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing correct polarity.
  3. Initiate Pairing: Say, "Alexa, set up my gadget," and follow the voice prompts provided by your Echo device.
  4. Activate Pairing Mode on Clock: Press and hold the SET/PAIR button located on the front of the clock. Continue holding until the LED status light begins pulsing orange. This indicates the clock is in setup mode.
  5. Confirm Connection: The clock hands will automatically set to the correct time. The LED status light will turn blue when successfully connected to the compatible Amazon Echo device, then turn off after the setup is complete.

Operating Instructions

Timekeeping

Once paired with an Echo device, your Citizen Smart Wall Clock will automatically display the correct time. It will also automatically adjust for daylight saving time.

Using Timers

The primary smart feature of this clock is its ability to display timers set via your Amazon Echo device. The 60 blue LED markers around the clock face provide a visual countdown.

  • Setting a Timer: Simply say, for example, "Alexa, set a timer for 8 minutes." The clock's LEDs will illuminate to show the remaining time.
  • Multiple Timers: You can set multiple timers through your Echo device. The clock's LED display will cycle through active timers, showing each countdown sequentially.
  • Checking Timer Status: Ask your Echo device, "Alexa, how much time is left on the timer?"

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The clock requires 4 C batteries. Under normal usage, these batteries should last up to one year. When the batteries are low, the clock's performance may be affected, or it may stop functioning. Replace all 4 batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline C batteries.

  1. Remove the clock from the wall.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover on the back.
  3. Remove the old batteries.
  4. Insert 4 new C alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  6. Re-hang the clock. The clock should automatically re-sync with your paired Echo device.

Cleaning

To clean the clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components. The protective glass lens helps keep dust out.
