Introduction
The PRUNUS J-288 Portable Radio is a versatile audio device designed for convenience and high-quality sound. It combines traditional AM/FM radio functionality with modern features such as Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 playback via USB and TF card, and an AUX input. Its compact design and long-lasting battery make it ideal for various indoor and outdoor uses.

Setup
1. Charging the Battery
The PRUNUS J-288 is equipped with a 1200mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.
- Connect the supplied USB Charging Cable to the DC5V port on the radio.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
- The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging. It will turn green once fully charged.
2. Powering On/Off
- To power on the radio, long press the Power button. The display will light up.
- To power off the radio, long press the Power button again. The display will turn off.

Operating Modes
The PRUNUS J-288 offers multiple listening modes. Press the MODE button to cycle through available modes: AM Radio, FM Radio, Bluetooth, AUX, and USB/TF Card MP3 Player.

1. Radio Mode (AM/FM)
Extend the ultra-long antenna for optimal reception. The radio can auto-save up to 99 AM stations (522-1620KHZ) and 98 FM stations (87-108MHZ).
- Switching Bands: Press the MODE button until "AM" or "FM" appears on the display.
- Auto Scan & Store: Long press the SCAN button. The radio will automatically search for and store available stations. Stored channels will be labeled "P01", "P02", etc.
- Manual Tuning: Use the numeric keypad (0-9) to directly enter a frequency (e.g., for 91.5 FM, enter "915").
- Navigating Stored Channels: Use the Previous (◀◀) or Next (▶▶) buttons to cycle through stored channels.
- Adjusting Volume: Use the physical volume knob on the side of the device.

2. Bluetooth Mode
The radio features upgraded Bluetooth 4.0 technology for fast and automatic re-connection to paired devices.
- Activate Bluetooth: Press the MODE button until "BLUE" appears on the display. The radio will enter pairing mode.
- Pairing: On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for "J-288". Select it to pair. The radio will confirm successful pairing.
- Playing Audio: Once paired, play audio from your device. The radio will act as a Bluetooth speaker.
- Hands-Free Calling: The radio can be used as a hands-free telephone receiver. Press the Phone button to answer or end calls.
- Note: Bluetooth headphones are not supported.

3. MP3 Player Mode (USB Disk & TF Card)
Enjoy your favorite music directly from a USB flash drive or TF (Micro SD) card.
- Insert Media: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or a TF card into the TF card slot. The radio will automatically switch to MP3 mode and begin playing.
- Navigating Tracks: Use the Previous (◀◀) or Next (▶▶) buttons to skip tracks.
- Direct Track Selection: Use the numeric keypad (0-9) to directly select a track number.
- Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause (▶▶) button to pause or resume playback.

4. AUX Input Mode
Connect external audio devices using a 3.5mm AUX cable (not included).
- Switch to AUX Mode: Press the MODE button until "AUX" appears on the display.
- Connect Device: Insert one end of a 3.5mm AUX cable into the radio's AUX port and the other end into your external audio device's headphone jack or AUX output.
- Play Audio: Play audio from your external device. The radio will output the sound.

Special Features
1. Sleep Timer
Set a shutdown time for the radio, perfect for falling asleep to music or radio programs.
- Press the CLOCK button (often indicated by a clock icon).
- Repeatedly press the CLOCK button to cycle through preset shutdown times (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes).
- The radio will automatically power off after the selected time.

2. Lock Key
Prevent accidental operation by locking the radio's buttons.
- Long press the Lock button (indicated by a padlock icon). The display will show "LOCK".
- All buttons, except the Power button, will be disabled.
- To unlock, long press the Lock button again.

Maintenance
- Keep the device dry and away from moisture.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- When not in use for extended periods, store the radio in a cool, dry place and charge it periodically to maintain battery health.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the USB charging cable and try powering on again.
- Poor Radio Reception: Fully extend the antenna. Try repositioning the radio for better signal. Perform an auto-scan to find stronger stations.
- Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Ensure the radio is in "BLUE" mode. Turn off and on Bluetooth on your mobile device. Make sure no other devices are currently paired with the radio.
- No Sound from USB/TF Card: Ensure the media is inserted correctly. Verify that the audio files are in a compatible MP3 format.
- Display is Dim Outdoors: The power-saving AOD screen may appear dim in bright sunlight. This is normal behavior to conserve battery.
