Before first use, fully charge the battery pack. Use only the supplied Einhell fast charger.

  1. Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet.
  2. Slide the battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
  3. The charging indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 30 minutes for the 1.5-Ah battery.
  4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

4.2 Battery Installation and Removal

To install the battery, align the battery pack with the receptacle on the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it locks securely. To remove, press the release button(s) on the sides of the battery pack and slide it out.

4.3 Chuck Operation (Inserting/Removing Bits)

The drill features a keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes.

  1. To open the chuck, hold the rear part of the chuck and rotate the front part counter-clockwise until the jaws are wide enough to accept the bit.
  2. Insert the drill bit or screwdriver bit fully into the chuck jaws.
  3. To tighten, hold the rear part of the chuck and rotate the front part clockwise until the bit is securely clamped. The quick-stop function assists in tightening.
  4. To remove a bit, reverse the tightening procedure.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

The drill is activated by pressing the trigger switch. The speed of the drill is variable and controlled by the amount of pressure applied to the trigger. Releasing the trigger will stop the drill.

5.2 Speed Selection

The drill features a 2-speed gearbox, allowing you to select the appropriate speed range for your task.

  • Gear 1 (Low Speed): Ideal for high-torque applications such as screwdriving or drilling large diameter holes in tough materials.
  • Gear 2 (High Speed): Suitable for fast drilling in softer materials or smaller diameter holes.

To change gears, slide the gear selector switch located on top of the drill. Ensure the drill is completely stopped before changing gears to prevent damage.

5.3 Torque Setting

The torque collar allows you to adjust the amount of torque applied, preventing overtightening of screws or stripping screw heads. It has 21 settings plus a drill mode.

  • Rotate the torque collar to the desired setting. Lower numbers are for smaller screws or softer materials; higher numbers are for larger screws or harder materials.
  • For drilling, set the collar to the drill symbol (usually indicated by a drill bit icon) for maximum torque.

5.4 Drilling and Screwdriving Tips

  • Always use sharp, appropriate bits for the material you are working with.
  • Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the drill.
  • For screwdriving, start with a lower torque setting and increase if necessary.
  • When drilling, allow the drill to do the work. Excessive pressure can cause the motor to overheat or the bit to break.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill/driver.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the battery pack before cleaning.
  • Keep the ventilation openings clear and free of dust. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean.
  • Wipe the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the drill/driver and accessories in the supplied transport and storage case.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

6.3 Battery Care

  • For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50-70% capacity.
  • Avoid storing batteries in extreme temperatures.
  • Do not allow batteries to fully discharge for extended periods, as this can reduce their lifespan.
