Caution! Residual Risks

Even with correct use, residual risks exist:

  1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is used. ?
  2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used. ?
  3. Health damage from hand-arm vibrations if used for prolonged periods or not properly guided/maintained.

Limit operating time, considering all cycle stages (switched off and load-free times).

5. Before Starting the Equipment

Before using the cordless screwdriver for the first time:

  1. Charge the battery pack with the supplied charger.
  2. Use only sharp drill bits and screwdriver bits suitable for the purpose and in faultless condition.
  3. Always check for concealed electric cables and gas/water pipes when drilling and screwing in walls.

6. Operation

6.1 Charging the LI battery pack (Fig. 2-3)

Diagrams show battery removal and charging.

  1. Remove the battery pack (5) by pressing the pushlock buttons (8).
  2. Check that your mains voltage matches the charger's rating plate. Plug the charger (6) into the mains socket outlet; the green LED will flash.
  3. Push the battery pack onto the battery charger.

Refer to Section 10 "Charger indicator" for LED explanations.

If the battery pack fails to charge, check:

  • Voltage at the socket-outlet.
  • Proper contact at the charging contacts.

If charging still fails, return the charger and battery pack to the Customer Service Department.

To ensure long service life, recharge the battery pack promptly when power drops.

6.2 Torque setting (Fig. 4 / Item 1)

Important! Set the torque with the setting ring only when the tool is at a standstill. The cordless screwdriver has a mechanical torque selector.

The torque for a screw size is selected with the set-collar (1). Correct torque depends on:

  • Type and hardness of material.
  • Type and length of screws used.
  • Requirements of the screwed joint.

The clutch disengages with a grating sound when the set torque is reached.

6.3 Selector switch for driving/drilling/impact drilling (Fig. 4/Item 11)

  • Driving: Set switch (11) to "Screw". Torque adjusted via setting (1).
  • Drilling: Set switch (11) to "Bit". Slip coupling is off; maximum torque is available regardless of setting (1).
  • Impact drilling: Set switch (11) to "Hammer". Slip coupling is off; maximum torque is available regardless of setting (1).

Important! Change torque setting (1) and selector switch (11) only when the equipment is at a standstill.

6.4 Forward/Reverse switch (Fig. 5 / Item 3)

This switch selects rotation direction (clockwise/anticlockwise) and locks the tool to prevent accidental activation. Change direction only when the tool is stopped to avoid gearing damage. The ON/OFF switch is blocked when the slide switch is in the center position.

6.5 On/Off switch (Fig. 5 / Item 4)

Provides infinitely variable speed control. The further the switch is pressed, the higher the speed.

6.6 Changing over from 1st gear to 2nd gear (Fig. 4 / Item 7)

Use the selector switch to work at higher or lower speeds. Change gears only when the tool has stopped to avoid damaging the gear unit.

6.7 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 6 – Item 2)
