Lock Function
Press the "LOCK" button on the display to hold the current temperature reading. This is useful when you need to remove the thermometer from the food to read the temperature without lingering near heat. Press the button again to unlock and resume live temperature readings.
Calibration
The TP19 features a calibration function to ensure long-term accuracy. To calibrate, prepare an ice bath (a mixture of ice and water). Insert the probe into the ice bath and allow the reading to stabilize. If the reading is not 32°F (0°C), refer to the detailed calibration instructions in the full manual or contact customer support for precise steps.

Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is inserted into the thickest part of the food, avoiding bone. Perform a calibration using an ice bath if readings are consistently off.
- Display Not Turning On: Check if the AAA battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary. Ensure the probe is fully unfolded to activate the motion sensor.
- Slow Readings: While the TP19 is designed for fast readings, extreme temperature differences (e.g., from freezing to hot) may slightly increase response time. Ensure the probe tip is fully immersed in the food.
- Display Flipping Incorrectly: The auto-rotating display is designed for convenience. If it seems to flip erratically, slightly adjust the angle at which you are holding the thermometer.
