1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Casio LTP-2089L-2AVDF Analog Watch. This manual provides essential information regarding the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new timepiece. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure proper use and to prolong the life of your watch.
The Casio LTP-2089L-2AVDF is a stylish analog watch featuring a quartz movement, a durable stainless steel case, and a comfortable leather strap. It includes day and date display functions and is water-resistant up to 50 meters.
2. Initial Setup
2.1 Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. When setting the minute hand, advance it four or five minutes past the desired time and then turn it back to the correct time.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
2.2 Setting the Day and Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date.
- Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to set the day.
- Once the day and date are set, push the crown back in to the normal position.
Note: Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time to outside this range, adjust the date, and then reset the time.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Water Resistance
This watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, or showering with hot water, as steam and temperature changes can compromise the seals.
Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.
3.2 Day and Date Display
The watch features dedicated subdials for day and date display, which automatically advance. Adjustments are typically only needed for months with fewer than 31 days.
4. Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect accuracy and battery life.
- Chemicals: Keep the watch away from gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. These can cause discoloration, deterioration, or damage to the resin case, band, and other parts.
- Magnetic Fields: Strong magnetic fields can cause the watch to lose or gain time. Keep the watch away from magnetic devices.
- Battery Replacement: When the watch stops or the second hand moves erratically, it indicates a low battery. Have the battery replaced by an authorized Casio service center or a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.
5. Troubleshooting
- Watch is not running:
- Check if the crown is fully pushed in.
- The battery may be depleted. Refer to "Battery Replacement" in the Maintenance section.
- Time is inaccurate:
