Key Components:

  • Hot Water Dispense Button: Typically red, requires a safety lock engagement.
  • Cold Water Dispense Button: Typically blue.
  • Dispensing Spouts: Where water exits.
  • Drip Tray: Collects spills, removable for cleaning.
  • Water Bottle Support Collar: Holds the water bottle in place.
  • Power Cord: Connects to electrical outlet.
  • Hot/Cold Switches: Located on the back of the unit, control heating and cooling functions.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dispenser from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport if needed.
  2. Placement: Position the dispenser on a hard, level surface. Ensure there is at least 4 inches of clearance from the wall to allow for proper ventilation. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the dispenser into a standard 120V AC grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.
  4. Water Bottle Installation:
    • Clean the neck of a 3 or 5-gallon water bottle.
    • Remove the protective seal from the bottle cap. Do not remove the cap itself if it is a non-spill type.
    • Lift the water bottle and carefully insert it onto the water bottle support collar, ensuring it is seated firmly. The probe will push through the bottle cap.
  5. Initial Priming: Before turning on the heating and cooling switches, dispense at least 1 liter of water from both the hot and cold faucets to ensure the tanks are filled. This prevents dry heating.
  6. Activate Heating/Cooling: Locate the hot and cold switches on the back of the unit. Flip them to the 'ON' position. Allow approximately 15-30 minutes for the water to reach optimal hot and cold temperatures.

Operating

Dispensing Cold Water:

  1. Place a cup under the cold water spout.
  2. Press the blue cold water dispense button.
  3. Release the button once the desired amount of water is dispensed.

Dispensing Hot Water:

  1. Place a heat-resistant cup under the hot water spout.
  2. Engage the child-resistant safety lock (usually by sliding or pressing a button above the hot water dispense button).
  3. While holding the safety lock, press the red hot water dispense button.
  4. Release the button once the desired amount of hot water is dispensed.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and hygiene.

Exterior Cleaning:

  • Unplug the dispenser from the power outlet.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Clean the drip tray and grill regularly. Remove the drip tray, empty it, wash with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and replace.

Internal Cleaning (Every 3-6 Months):

  • Unplug the dispenser and remove the water bottle.
  • Drain all water from the hot and cold tanks using the drain plugs located on the back of the unit.
  • Prepare a cleaning solution: Mix 1 gallon of warm water with 1 teaspoon of plain household bleach OR 1 gallon of warm water with 2 cups of white vinegar.
  • Pour the cleaning solution into the reservoir.
  • Allow the solution to sit for 15-30 minutes (for bleach) or 30 minutes (for vinegar).
  • Drain the cleaning solution completely through the hot and cold faucets until the tanks are empty.
  • Rinse the dispenser by filling the reservoir with clean tap water and draining it through the faucets. Repeat this rinsing process 2-3 times to remove any residual cleaning solution.
  • Replace the drain plugs, install a new water bottle, and plug the dispenser back in.
