The Shark SKWAL 2 is a full-face motorcycle helmet constructed from durable polycarbonate, designed for rider safety and comfort. It features an integrated sun visor, a main visor prepared for Pinlock anti-fog inserts, and a secure micrometric buckle system.

2. Safety Information

Your helmet is a critical safety device. Always wear it correctly. Improper use can lead to serious injury or death.

• Fit: Ensure the helmet fits snugly and comfortably. A helmet that is too loose may not provide adequate protection.
• Retention System: Always fasten the micrometric buckle securely under your chin. The strap should be tight enough so that the helmet cannot be pulled off your head.
• Visibility: Keep your visor clean and free from obstructions. Use the integrated sun visor only in bright conditions and ensure it does not impair your vision.
• Damage: Never use a helmet that has been involved in an impact, even if there is no visible damage. The protective capabilities may be compromised.

5. Sizing Guide

6. Setup and Installation

6.1. Visor Installation/Removal

The Shark SKWAL 2 features a quick visor release system for easy maintenance or replacement.

1. Removal: Open the main visor fully. Locate the release levers on both sides of the visor mechanism. Press the levers and gently pull the visor outwards to detach it.
2. Installation: Align the visor's pivot points with the helmet's mechanism. Push firmly until you hear a click, indicating it is securely locked in place. Test the visor movement to ensure proper installation.

6.2. Pinlock Anti-Fog Insert Installation

The Pinlock insert creates an insulating air layer between itself and the main visor, preventing fogging.

1. Remove the main visor from the helmet.
2. Flex the main visor slightly to flatten it.
3. Align the Pinlock insert's silicone seal with the Pinlock pins on the main visor.
4. Press the Pinlock insert onto the pins, ensuring the silicone seal creates a tight fit around the visor.
5. Release the main visor, allowing it to return to its natural curve, which will tension the Pinlock insert.
6. Reinstall the main visor onto the helmet.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Wearing the Helmet

1. Hold the helmet by the chin straps.
2. Pull the straps apart and slide the helmet onto your head, ensuring it sits level.
3. Adjust the comfort padding if necessary to ensure a snug fit.

7.2. Fastening the Micrometric Buckle

1. Insert the notched strap into the micrometric buckle until it is snug against your chin.
2. To release, pull the red tab on the buckle.
3. Ensure the strap is always securely fastened before riding.

7.3. Using the Integrated Sun Visor

The integrated sun visor is operated by a slider located on the side of the helmet.

• To deploy: Slide the lever forward/down to lower the sun visor.
• To retract: Slide the lever backward/up to raise the sun visor.

Note: The sun visor is intended for daytime use in bright conditions. Do not use it at night or in low light conditions where it may impair visibility.

7.4. Ventilation System

The helmet features adjustable vents to control airflow:

• Chin Vent: Located on the chin bar, slides open/closed to direct air to the visor and face.
• Top Vents: Located on the top of the helmet, slides open/closed to allow air circulation over the scalp.

Adjust these vents as needed for optimal comfort and to reduce visor fogging.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Cleaning the Outer Shell

Clean the helmet shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the shell's finish and material integrity.

8.2. Cleaning the Visors

• Main Visor: Remove the visor. Wash with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Use a specialized visor cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive materials.
• Pinlock Insert: Handle the Pinlock insert carefully. Clean only with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Do not rub the inner surface, as this can damage the anti-fog coating. Allow to air dry.
• Integrated Sun Visor: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.

8.3. Cleaning the Interior Padding

The interior comfort padding is removable and washable.

1. Carefully detach the padding components from the helmet.
2. Hand wash in cold water with mild soap or a specialized helmet interior cleaner.
3. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinserting into the helmet. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

8.4. Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from scratches and dust.

9. Troubleshooting

• Visor Fogging: Ensure the Pinlock insert is correctly installed and sealed. Open chin and top vents to increase airflow.
• Helmet Feels Loose: Recheck your head measurement against the sizing guide. If the helmet is too large, it will not provide adequate protection. Consider a smaller size or thicker cheek pads if available.
• Visor Difficult to Operate: Check for dirt or debris in the visor mechanism. Clean the mechanism carefully. If the issue persists, the mechanism may need lubrication or replacement.
• Excessive Noise: Ensure all vents are closed if not needed. Check that the visor is fully closed and sealed. A poorly fitting helmet can also contribute to wind noise.
