2. Important Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before using this fireplace.
  • Do not operate any fireplace with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Avoid placing the power cord under carpeting or covering it with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
  • To disconnect the fireplace, turn controls to off, then remove the plug from the outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the fireplace.
  • This fireplace is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the fireplace and all parts for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Contact customer support immediately if any damage is found.

3.2 Included Components

The following items are included with your Chesmont Smart Electric Fireplace:

  • Clear Crystals for hearth media
  • Driftwood Log Piece for hearth media

3.3 Wall Mounting Instructions

The Chesmont fireplace is designed for wall-mounted installation. Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound and capable of supporting the unit's weight (approximately 62 pounds). The fireplace features a fully finished mantel and is designed to be mounted on the wall, not recessed into it.

  1. Select a suitable location on a wall, ensuring it is away from drapes, furniture, and high-traffic areas.
  2. Determine the desired height for the fireplace. Consider the visibility of the display screen, which may be difficult to see if mounted too low.
  3. Securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided wood screws into studs, or drywall anchors if studs are not available. It is crucial for the bracket to be firmly attached.
  4. Carefully lift the fireplace unit and hook it onto the installed wall bracket. Ensure it is securely seated.
  5. Connect the power cord to a standard AC outlet. Note that the power cord features a 90-degree plug, and there is limited space behind the unit to hide excess wire. Plan your outlet placement accordingly.
