4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Device

The MCD 50 can be powered by batteries or via the included USB cable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Loading a Disc

  1. Gently press the OPEN button or slide the latch to open the disc compartment lid.
  2. Place a CD, CD-R, CD-RW, or MP3 disc onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the disc compartment lid firmly until it clicks.

5.2 Basic Playback Controls

  • PLAY/PAUSE (►/−): Press once to start playback. Press again to pause. Press again to resume.
  • STOP (■): Press to stop playback.
  • SKIP FORWARD (►►): Press once to skip to the next track. Press and hold to fast forward within a track.
  • SKIP BACKWARD (◄◄): Press once to skip to the beginning of the current track. Press twice to skip to the previous track. Press and hold to fast rewind within a track.
  • VOLUME (+/-): Use the volume controls (usually a rotary dial or buttons) to adjust the listening level.
  • MODE/PROG: Used for setting playback modes (repeat, random) or programming tracks. Refer to the display for options.

5.3 MP3 Playback

When playing an MP3 disc, the player will display folder and track information. Use the navigation buttons to browse folders and select tracks.

5.4 Anti-Shock Protection (ESP)

The device features Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) to prevent audio interruptions during movement. This function is automatically active.

5.5 Audiobook Function

6.1 Cleaning the Device
