Setup Instructions
Follow these steps for proper assembly of your Zinus Therese Platform Bed.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage. Identify each component using the "Package Contents" section.
- Attach Side Rails to Headboard: Align the side rails with the pre-drilled holes on the headboard. Insert the appropriate bolts and washers, then hand-tighten.
- Attach Side Rails to Footboard: Repeat the previous step to attach the other end of the side rails to the footboard. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten yet.
- Install Center Support Beam: Connect the center support beam to the designated brackets on the headboard and footboard. Secure with bolts and washers.
- Tighten All Bolts: Once the main frame is assembled, use the provided ratchet tool to fully tighten all bolts. Ensure all connections are firm and stable.
- Place Wood Slats: Unroll or place the wood slats across the side rails. The slats are designed with non-slip tape to prevent mattress movement and foam padded tape for noise reduction. Ensure they are evenly spaced and secured if applicable.

- Mattress Placement: Carefully place your mattress directly onto the wood slats. No box spring is required for this platform bed.
- Noise Reduction: The bed frame features foam padded tape on the steel frame and non-slip tape on the wooden slats. These features are designed to minimize noise and prevent mattress movement.
- Weight Distribution: Ensure weight is distributed evenly across the bed surface to maintain structural integrity and prevent damage.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and performance of your bed frame.
- Bolt Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months), check all assembly bolts and re-tighten them if they have loosened. This helps prevent squeaking and maintains stability.
- Cleaning Metal Parts: Wipe metal surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
- Cleaning Wood Parts: Wipe wood surfaces with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Inspection: Inspect the wood slats for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
Troubleshooting
Common issues and their solutions.
- Squeaking Noises:
- Ensure all bolts are securely tightened. Loose connections are a common cause of squeaking.
- Verify that the foam padded tape on the steel frame is intact and properly positioned.
- Check if the mattress is rubbing against the frame. Adjust its position if needed.
- Mattress Sliding:
- Confirm that the non-slip tape on the wooden slats is present and making contact with the mattress.
- Consider adding additional non-slip pads between the mattress and slats if sliding persists.
- Missing or Damaged Parts:
- If you find any parts missing or damaged upon opening the package, do not proceed with assembly.
- Contact Zinus customer support immediately for assistance and replacement parts.
