1. Introduction

The Stabila 6520 Laser Distance Measure is a precision instrument designed for accurate distance, area, and volume measurements. Featuring Bluetooth connectivity, it allows seamless data transfer to compatible mobile devices for enhanced functionality and documentation. 2. Safety Information

• This device emits a Class 2 laser. Do not stare directly into the laser beam or direct it at other people.
• Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the device. Unauthorized modifications can result in hazardous laser radiation exposure.

• Use only specified batteries. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
2. Open the cover by sliding or unlatching it.
3. Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device requires 4 AA batteries, which are included with the product.

4. Operation

4.1 Power On/Off

• To power on: Press the ON button.
• To power off: Press and hold the C/OFF button. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity.

4.2 Basic Distance Measurement

1. Point the laser at the target surface.
2. Press the ON button once to activate the laser.
3. Press the ON button again to take a measurement. The measured distance will be displayed on the screen.

4.3 Digital Viewfinder with 4x Zoom

The integrated digital viewfinder allows for precise targeting, especially over long distances or in bright outdoor conditions where the laser dot may be difficult to see. The 4x zoom function enhances visibility of the target.

4.4 Measurement Functions

The Stabila 6520 offers a variety of measurement functions. Press the FUNC button to cycle through available modes.

• Single Distance Measurement: Measures the distance between two points.
• Continuous Measurement (Tracking): Displays real-time distance as the device is moved. Useful for finding minimum/maximum distances.
• Area Measurement: Calculates the area of a rectangular space by measuring two sides.
• Volume Measurement: Calculates the volume of a space by measuring three dimensions.
• Pythagorean Functions: For indirect height or distance measurements using two or three measurements.
• Inclination Measurement: Utilizes the integrated 360° inclination sensor to measure angles.
• Stake Out Function: Helps mark out predefined distances.
• Timer Function: Allows for delayed measurements to avoid device movement.
• Indirect Height/Distance Measurement: For situations where direct measurement is not possible.
• Measurement of Inclined Objects: Calculates dimensions of objects on slopes.
• Elevation Profile Measurement: For determining height differences.
• Trapezoidal Measurement: Calculates area of trapezoidal shapes.
• Triangular Area Measurement: Calculates area of triangular shapes.

4.5 Bluetooth Connectivity and App Integration

The Stabila 6520 features Bluetooth Smart 4.0 for wireless data transfer to compatible iOS devices (iPad, iPhone). Download the free STABILA Measures app from the App Store to utilize advanced functions such as creating sketches, documenting measurements, and organizing projects.

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
2. Open the STABILA Measures app.
3. Follow the app's instructions to pair with your Stabila 6520 device.
4. Once connected, measurements taken with the device will be transferred to the app.
