3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Open the cover by sliding or unlatching it.
  3. Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device requires 4 AA batteries, which are included with the product.

  2. Press the ON button once to activate the laser.
  3. Press the ON button again to take a measurement. The measured distance will be displayed on the screen.

The integrated digital viewfinder allows for precise targeting, especially over long distances or in bright outdoor conditions where the laser dot may be difficult to see. The 4x zoom function enhances visibility of the target.

The Stabila 6520 offers a variety of measurement functions. Press the FUNC button to cycle through available modes.

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
  2. Open the STABILA Measures app.
  3. Follow the app's instructions to pair with your Stabila 6520 device.
  4. Once connected, measurements taken with the device will be transferred to the app.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Dead or incorrectly inserted batteries. Replace batteries or check polarity.
Inaccurate measurements. Dirty laser lens/aperture, unstable surface, or unsuitable target. Clean lens, ensure stable positioning, use a reflective target if needed.
Bluetooth connection issues. Bluetooth off on mobile device, app not open, or device not paired. Ensure Bluetooth is on, open the STABILA Measures app, and follow pairing instructions.
Laser not visible. Bright ambient light or long distance. Use the digital viewfinder with zoom, or a laser target plate.
