Product Overview
The STABILA LD 220 laser distance meter offers several functions:
- On/Measure
- Area / Volume / Unit selection
- Clear / Off
Instrument Set-up and Introduction
Introduction:
A warning symbol ⚠️ indicates that safety instructions and the user manual should be read carefully before the product is used for the first time. A symbol of a hand pointing to a document ? suggests familiarizing oneself with the instructions. The person responsible for the product must ensure that all users understand these directions and adhere to them.
Button Functions:
- Button 1 (Green): Labeled with horizontal lines, this button is used for turning the device on and initiating measurements.
- Button 2 (Grey): Labeled "FUNC", this button is used for selecting functions such as Area, Volume, or changing measurement Units.
- Button 3 (Grey): Labeled "C" with a power symbol, this button is used to clear the current operation or turn the device off.
Battery Installation:
The device requires 2 x AAA batteries. A diagram shows how to open the battery compartment and insert the batteries correctly, observing polarity.
Unit Selection:
Holding the "FUNC" button for 2 seconds allows the user to change the measurement unit. The display can show units in meters (m), feet and inches (0'00"1/16), or inches (0 in 1/16).
Power Off:
Holding the "C" (Clear/Off) button for 2 seconds turns the device off.
Measurement Examples:
Diagrams illustrate how to perform measurements. The device can measure distances up to 8.532 m. It shows the laser beam being emitted from the device and reflecting off a target. Examples include measuring from a corner, indicated by numbered points 1 and 2 on the diagram.
