Setup

1. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

Hold the binoculars with both hands and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels by moving them closer together or further apart until you see a single, clear circular field of view. This ensures both eyes are aligned with the optical path.

2. Adjusting Eyecups for Glasses Wearers

If you wear eyeglasses, fold down the rubber eyecups to bring your eyes closer to the lenses, allowing for a full field of view. If you do not wear glasses, leave the eyecups in the upright position.

3. Attaching the Neck Strap

Thread the provided neck strap through the strap lugs on the sides of the binoculars. Adjust the length for comfortable carrying around your neck.

4. Tripod Mounting (Optional)

For extended observation periods or to achieve maximum stability, your Bresser Hunter 10x50 binoculars can be mounted on a standard tripod. Locate the tripod adapter thread on the front hinge of the binoculars. Remove the cap (if present) and attach a compatible tripod adapter (sold separately) to secure the binoculars to a tripod.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Focusing

  1. Choose a distant object to focus on.
  2. Close your right eye and rotate the central focus wheel until the image in your left eye is sharp and clear.
  3. Open your right eye and close your left eye. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring (usually on the right eyepiece) until the image in your right eye is sharp and clear.
  4. Now, both eyepieces are individually focused for your vision. For subsequent viewing, you will only need to use the central focus wheel to adjust for different distances.

2. General Viewing

Once focused, hold the binoculars steady and enjoy your observation. The 10x magnification provides a detailed view, while the 50mm objective lenses gather ample light for bright images, even in lower light conditions.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Lenses

  • Use the provided lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics.
  • Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges. Avoid excessive pressure.
  • For stubborn dirt or fingerprints, use a small amount of optical lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
  • Never use abrasive cloths, paper towels, or household cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the lens coatings.

2. Cleaning the Body

Wipe the rubber-armored body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.

3. Storage

When not in use, store the binoculars in their carrying bag in a cool, dry place. Ensure lens caps are in place to protect the optics from dust and scratches.
