How to Get a Sharp Image
Eye Spacing
The distance between the eyes varies for each child. Therefore, the correct interpupillary distance must be set for you first. Take the binoculars in both hands (as shown in illustration C) and hold them in front of your eyes. Fold them so that you see a single circle when looking through them with both eyes (see Fig. D).
Focusing
Find an object over ten metres away. To get a sharp image of this object, first look with both eyes through the eyepiece lenses (3). Then, turn the focusing wheel (Fig. 1, 1) with a finger until the image appears completely clear and sharp.
If you wear glasses...
On the front of the eyepiece lenses are foldable eye protectors (see Fig. A, 2). If you wear glasses, you should fold these back to see more clearly (see Fig. E).
Now your adventure can begin! Have fun observing!
Care and Maintenance
To ensure your binoculars serve you well for a long time:
- Clean the lenses (eyepiece and/or objective lenses) only with the provided lens cleaning cloth or another soft, lint-free cloth (e.g., microfibre). Do not press hard on the cloth, as the lenses are very delicate and can be scratched.
- If your binoculars are very dirty, ask your parents for help. Have them dampen the cleaning cloth with a little cleaning fluid and gently wipe the lenses.
- Always protect your binoculars from dust and moisture! After use, especially in high humidity, leave them in a warm room for a while to allow any residual moisture to evaporate. Put on the dust caps and store the binoculars in the provided case.
