7. Special Features
Open Window Detection
The thermostat features an open-window detection function. If the room temperature drops by 6°C within 4 minutes, the thermostat will automatically stop heating to save energy. The open-window icon will appear on the display.
The open-window mode will exit if:
- The temperature rises by 3°C.

8. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- "Er" displayed on screen: This indicates a sensor error. If no external sensor is connected, ensure the sensor selection (advanced setting 02) is not set to OUT or ALL. If an external sensor is connected, check its wiring and functionality. The thermostat will stop heating until this issue is resolved.
- Thermostat not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on.
- Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4Ghz (5Ghz is not supported).
- Check that the Wi-Fi name and password contain only numbers and letters, without special symbols.
- Ensure the thermostat's Wi-Fi icon is flashing, indicating it's in configuration mode.
- Try restarting your router and the thermostat.
- Thermostat not responding to app commands: Check your internet connection and ensure the thermostat is still connected to Wi-Fi. Verify the app is updated to the latest version.
- Heating not turning on/off as scheduled: Check the time programming settings in the app (or advanced settings) to ensure they are correctly configured. Verify the current mode is set to Auto mode for scheduled operation.
If you encounter any problems during the use of the product, please feel free to contact the seller for assistance.
9. Maintenance
- Clean the thermostat's screen and casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight or drafts, as this can affect temperature readings.
- Periodically check wiring connections for any signs of wear or looseness.
- Keep the thermostat free from dust and debris to ensure proper ventilation and operation.
10. User Tips
- Gas Boiler Wiring: When connecting to a gas boiler, ensure you correctly identify the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your boiler's old thermostat. For the TGM50-WPB model, these typically connect to terminals 1 and 2, while the dry contact wires (often black and blue from the boiler) connect to terminals 3 and 4. Always consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
- App Integration: For seamless smart home integration, ensure your Tuya Smart or Smart Life app is linked to your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant accounts. This allows for convenient voice control.
- Energy Saving: Utilize the weekly programming feature to set different temperatures for various times of the day and week, optimizing energy consumption. The open-window detection feature also helps prevent energy waste.
- Child Safety: Remember to activate the child lock function to prevent children from accidentally changing settings or turning off the heating.
