SINOTIMER SVP915-80A

SINOTIMER SVP915-80A Adjustable Over Under Voltage Protection Relay User Manual

Automatic Recovery Surge Protector Din Rail Mounted

1. Product Overview

The SINOTIMER SVP915-80A is an automatic recovery over-voltage and under-voltage protective device designed to safeguard electrical equipment and personnel from unstable power situations. It complies with modular design standards and features high-quality electronic components for reliable performance. When the voltage exceeds or falls below the set limits, the device automatically cuts off the power. Once the voltage returns to normal, it will automatically re-supply power after a 30-second delay.

2. Key Functions

  • Over-voltage protection
  • Under-voltage protection
  • Automatic recovery
  • Integrated Volt-meter display

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Mounting

The SVP915-80A is designed for installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Ensure the device is securely clipped onto the rail in a suitable electrical enclosure.

3.2 Wiring Diagram

Proper wiring is crucial for safe and effective operation. Refer to the diagram below for connection instructions. Always ensure power is disconnected before performing any wiring.

Wiring diagram for the SVP-915 voltage protector, showing connections to a power switch and an air circuit breaker. L (Live) and N (Neutral) inputs are connected to the 'IN' terminals, and outputs are connected from the 'OUT' terminals.
Figure 2: Wiring Diagram for SVP-915 Series Voltage Protector. Connect Live (L) and Neutral (N) from the power source to the 'IN' terminals. Connect the load (e.g., energy meter, air circuit breaker) to the 'OUT' terminals, ensuring correct L and N polarity.

Connection Points:

  • IN (Top Terminals): Connect the incoming Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your power source.
  • OUT (Bottom Terminals): Connect the outgoing Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires to your electrical load or circuit.

Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and potential hazards.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Power-Up

Once correctly wired and mounted, apply power to the device. The integrated volt-meter display will show the current voltage. The device will perform a self-check and, if voltage is within safe limits, will supply power to the load after a 30-second delay.

4.2 Adjusting Protection Parameters

The SVP915-80A allows for adjustable over-voltage and under-voltage protection values. Use the 'SET', 'UP' (triangle), and 'DOWN' (inverted triangle) buttons on the front panel to configure these settings.

Video 1: Demonstration of setting over-voltage and under-voltage protection limits on the SVP915-80A.

To adjust settings:

  1. Press and hold the 'SET' button until the display starts flashing, indicating entry into setting mode.
  2. Use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' buttons to navigate through the different parameters (e.g., over-voltage protection value, over-voltage recovery value, under-voltage protection value, under-voltage recovery value, and protection action times).
  3. When a parameter is selected, use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' buttons to adjust its value.
  4. Press 'SET' again to confirm the value and move to the next parameter, or wait a few seconds for the device to automatically save the settings and exit setting mode.

Default and Adjustable Ranges:

  • Over-voltage protection value: Range 221V~290V~OFF (Default: 275V)
  • Over-voltage recovery voltage: Range 216V~285V (Default: 245V)
  • Over-voltage protection action time: Range 0.1s~3.0s (Default: 0.2s)
  • Under-voltage protection value: Range 219V~150V~OFF (Default: 170V)
  • Under-voltage recovery voltage: Range 155V~224V (Default: 185V)
  • Under-voltage protection action time: Range 0.1s~30s (Default: 0.2s)

4.3 Automatic Recovery

After a voltage anomaly (over or under voltage) causes the device to cut off power, it will automatically monitor the line voltage. Once the voltage stabilizes within the acceptable range, the device will re-supply power to the load after a 30-second delay. This delay prevents rapid cycling and protects connected equipment.

5. Maintenance

The SVP915-80A is designed for minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the device and its connections for any signs of damage, loose wiring, or overheating. Ensure the area around the device is clean and free from dust or debris to maintain proper ventilation.

6. Troubleshooting

If the device is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

  • No Display/No Power: Check the incoming power supply and ensure all wiring connections are secure. Verify that the main circuit breaker supplying power to the device is ON.
  • Device Trips Frequently: The voltage in your electrical system might be unstable. Monitor the voltage display to identify if it's consistently exceeding or falling below your set protection limits. Adjust the protection values if necessary, but ensure they are appropriate for your equipment.
  • Device Does Not Recover: Ensure the voltage has returned to a stable level within the recovery range. The device has a 30-second recovery delay; wait for this period to elapse. If it still doesn't recover, check for persistent voltage issues.
  • Incorrect Voltage Reading: While rare, if you suspect the built-in voltmeter is inaccurate, compare its reading with a calibrated external voltmeter.

For persistent issues, contact qualified electrical personnel or the manufacturer's support.
