The Jetpack will continue to function when plugged in all the time to the best of its abilities. However, Jetpacks are also sensitive to heat given off from the battery in frequent use. You may find overtime the Jetpacks performance will begin to decay faster than you expect.
You can use the Jetpack as a wireless mobile hotspot to connect your computer and up to a total of 15 Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the mobile broadband network.
Simple answer is yes. We have unlimited plans on our phones as well and we had to add a third line to accommodate the jetpack. Being RVer’s we decided it was better to add the jetpack to our plan so that we didn’t shut down phone use for using hotspot.
Connecting your smart TV to a Verizon Jetpack hotspot is no different than connecting to traditional Wi-Fi. Once your hotspot is powered up, your smart TV will locate your wireless network hotspot during the internet setup process. Select your hotspot and enter your Wi-Fi password, and your TV will connect.
To play it safe, do not leave a mobile hotspot plugged in when it is not actively in use. To add battery longevity, it’s also a good idea to periodically unplug your device and run it off the battery for a bit – even getting it down to a full drain.
You can use a Verizon Jetpack for your home internet. You can simultaneously connect multiple devices directly to a Verizon Jetpack over Wi-Fi, but the Jetpack cannot be used with ethernet ports and you may experience slower connection speeds after you reach a certain usage limit with your Jetpack.
Yes it works well with streaming providers (Netflix/Hulu/Spectrum/Fox/Syfy/etc…). Mostly purchased it to perform video conferences using my Polycom gear and use it a lot when I travel. If you plan to stream movies I highly recommend getting the unlimited package from Verizon.

If your hotspot usage puts you over your monthly data limit, you’ll pay for the extra data you use. On average, data limits for mobile hotspots are not very high and can’t really support working from home if your job requires heavy web browsing, data downloads, and/or video conferencing.
Overview: The Verizon “Jetpack” 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot is not designed or supported for USB tethering to any CradlePoint router. However, a Series 3 CradlePoint router can connect to the WiFi of the Jetpack using the WiFi-as-WAN feature built into the CradlePoint.
