    Question

How do I fix a mirrored or flipped rear camera image on my Thinkware dash cam?

    Answer

For Thinkware dash cams like the A500, a flipped or mirrored rear camera image is typically a software setting rather than a hardware fault. Please follow these steps to adjust the orientation:

    • Check App Settings: Connect your dash cam to the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app on your smartphone. Navigate to Dash Cam Settings > Camera Settings. Look for an option labeled Rear Camera Flip or Mirror Rear View and toggle it to your preference.
    • Verify Installation: Ensure the rear camera is mounted with the Thinkware logo facing the interior of the vehicle and the cable port on the correct side as shown in the installation guide. If the camera is physically mounted upside down, the image may appear mirrored or inverted.
    • Firmware Update: Since you have already tried formatting the card and resetting the unit, ensure you are running the latest firmware. Updates can be found via the mobile app or the Thinkware website.

If these settings do not appear in your app version for the A500, you may need to contact Thinkware support directly at support@thinkware.com (North America) or support.eu@thinkware.com (UK/EU) for model-specific configuration tools.
