Installation Instructions

Important Safety Instructions

Read and follow all safety instructions

  • This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved.
  • Disconnect power before beginning installation.
  • Fixture must be installed in compliance with NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 1, IBC, IFC, and any local codes.
  • To be installed only by a qualified electrician.
  • Proper grounding is required to ensure personal safety.
  • Read all fixture markings and labels to ensure correct installation of fixture.
  • Risk of fire, use minimum of 90C supply connectors.
  • Maximum mounting height is 8 ft.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
  • Do not attempt to service battery. Contact factory for replacement if battery backup should fail.
  • Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
  • The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
  • Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
  • Remote mounting of backup battery can result in reduced power output. Please consult factory for remote mounting more than 5 ft. from luminaire.
  • Fixture must be connected to an automatic transfer device to ensure continuous illumination in the event of normal power failure.

Installation Steps

  1. Remove luminaire frame fasteners (Fig. 1), then remove frame (Fig. 2).
  2. Remove raceway cover (Fig. 3) and both LED gear trays (Fig. 4).
  3. Insert luminaire housing into wall cutout (Fig. 5). See cover page for wall cutout dimensions.
  4. Fasten housing into wall (Fig. 6).
  5. Bring AC power lead (and EM circuit lead, if applicable) into the fixture and make electrical connections per wiring diagram, then reinstall LED gear trays (Fig. 7, Fig. 8) and raceway cover (Fig. 9) into housing. For fixtures with the remote emergency driver option, please consult the instruction sheet included with the battery pack.
  6. Reinstall luminaire frame (Fig. 10) and fasteners (Fig. 11).

INSTALLATION STEPS

    If installing a fixture with the remote battery pack option, remove EM circuit knockout before inserting into wall.

  4. Fasten housing into wall (Fig. 6).
  5.     ! For fixtures without the remote emergency driver option, AC power connection must come from an automatic transfer device such that fixture continues to receive power in the event of failure of the normal supply. Failure to connect to emergency power will disqualify this fixture from satisfying requirements for emergency exit signage per NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 1, IBC, and IFC.   6. Reinstall luminaire frame (Fig. 10) and fasteners (Fig. 11).
