Product Usage Instructions

Mounting & Connecting

To mount and connect the LANCOM 1930EF, follow these steps:

  1. WAN 1 Interfaces: Insert a suitable SFP module
    into the SFP port. Connect the cable as per the module’s
    documentation. Alternatively, connect the WAN 1 TP interface to a
    WAN modem using the provided Ethernet cable.
  2. WAN 2 Interface: Connect the WAN 2 interface
    to a WAN modem using the provided Ethernet cable.
  3. Ethernet Interface: Use the cable with
    kiwi-colored connectors to connect one of the ETH interfaces to
    your PC or LAN switch.
  4. Configuration Interface: Use the included
    serial configuration cable to connect to the device for
    configuration/monitoring.
  5. USB Interface: Connect a USB printer or
    storage device to the USB interface.
  6. Power Connector: Supply power using the IEC
    power cable and connect to earth before powering on.

Setting Up the Device

Follow these guidelines for setting up the LANCOM 1930EF:

  • Attach adhesive rubber footpads if placing on a desktop.
  • Avoid stacking objects on top of the device and keep
    ventilation slots clear.
  • If mounting in a server cabinet, use provided screws and
    brackets, paying attention to R and L marks for accurate
    mounting.

LED Description & Technical Details

The POWER/VPN LED indicates device status with green and red
colors. Refer to the manual for specific indications.

LANCOM 1930EF

WAN 1 interfaces (SFP / TP combo port) Insert a suitable SFP module (e.g. 1000Base-SX or 1000Base-LX) into the

SFP port. Choose a cable compatible with the SFP module and connect

it as described in the module’s documentation. SFP module and cable are

not included.

If desired, alternatively connect the WAN 1 TP interface to a WAN modem

using the provided Ethernet cable with green connectors.

WAN 2 interface (TP) Connect the WAN 2 interface to a WAN modem using the provided

Ethernet cable with green connectors.

Ethernet interface Use the cable with the kiwi-colored connectors to connect one of the

interfaces ETH 1 to ETH 4 to your PC or a LAN switch.

Configuration interface Use the included serial configuration cable to connect the serial

interface (COM) to the serial interface of the device you want to use

for configuring / monitoring.

USB interface You can use the USB interface to connect a USB printer or a USB

storage device.

Power connector and grounding point (device back side) Supply power to the device via the power connector. Please use the

IEC power cable supplied (separately available for WW devices).
