Product Usage Instructions
- Safety Instructions:
Always read the safety instructions carefully before operating the device. The appliance contains electrical parts that may pose a risk of electric shock if handled improperly. Do not attempt to open the housing of the device as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. - General Functions:
The device can be powered by AC or batteries. Use the POWER button to turn it on/off. Adjust volume using the VOLUME control. Select different functions using the corresponding buttons on the control panel. - Radio Operation:
To search for radio stations, use the SCAN function. Store your favorite stations using the MEM button. Switch between Mono and Stereo reception modes for optimal sound quality. - CD Player Operation:

Children:
- Never let children use or play with electrical devices unsupervised.
- Give children appropriate instructions before operating the appliance.
- Batteries/rechargeable batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore, keep the device and the batteries out of the reach of small children. If a battery is swallowed, medical help must be sought immediately.
- Also keep the packaging foil away from children. There is a risk of suffocation.
Laser scanner:
The CD player is a Class 1 laser product. The device is equipped with a safety system that prevents the escape of dangerous laser beams during normal use. To avoid eye injury, never tamper with or damage the device’s safety system.
The device works with an invisible laser scanner. To avoid danger, the device may only be opened by a specialist.
Danger:
Dangerous exposure to laser beams if the CD compartment cover is opened or damaged! Avoid direct contact with the laser beam!
Condensation humidity:
Moisture will condense on and in the device if it is brought from a cold to a warm room. The lens system of the CD player can fog up. CD playback will then not be possible until the moisture in the device has evaporated. Wait until the device has adjusted to room temperature before switching it on. Depending on the humidity and room temperature, this can take 2 to 3 hours. Never touch the lens of the laser scanner!

Power supply
Network operation:
- Connect the supplied power cable to the power connector on the back of the device and the plug to a properly installed 230 V ~ 50 Hz household socket.
- Any batteries inserted will be switched off automatically.
- Unplug the power cord from the socket if the device is not used for a long period of time.
Please note:
- As soon as the power cable is plugged into a socket, the red standby indicator on the front of the device lights up.
- Even when the device is switched off, it is still connected to the mains. If you do not use it for a long period of time, you should unplug it.
Battery operation:
Disconnect the device from the power supply if you want to operate it with batteries. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the device.
- Insert 4 x size “C” batteries (UM-2/LR-14 – not included) into the compartment, observing the polarity.
- Close the battery compartment carefully.
Safety instructions for batteries:
- If necessary, clean battery and device contacts before inserting.
- Remove used batteries from the device promptly and immediately! Increased risk of leakage!
- If a battery does leak, carefully wipe out the spilled liquid and insert new batteries.
- Never expose batteries to excessive heat, such as sunlight, fire or the like!
- Never immerse batteries in water.
- Always replace all batteries at the same time.
- Only use batteries of the same brand and type.
- Do not use new and old batteries together.
- Remove batteries from the device if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.
- Used batteries do not belong in household waste. The batteries must be handed in to a collection point for old batteries.
General Features
- Turning the device on/off:
- To turn on the device, press the “POWER” button.
- The display and the speaker backlight light up and the red standby indicator goes out.
- To turn the device off, press the power button again.
- The display and speaker backlight go out and the standby indicator lights up red again.
- Function selection:
To set the desired playback source, press the function selection button “FUN/EQ” repeatedly until the desired function appears on the display:- rAd Radio;
- Cd CD playback;
- USb Playback from a USB storage device;
- AUX playback from an external audio device;
- Volume control:
The volume is controlled with the “VOLUME” rotary control: V00 – V32 is displayed according to the set volume level. - Headphone jack:
You have the option of connecting headphones/earphones with a 3.5 mm jack to the headphone jack socket . This means that the sound is no longer played through the speakers, but through the headphones/earphones. - Please note:
Excessive volume over a long period of time can cause irreparable hearing damage! Therefore, select a moderate volume when using headphones/earphones. - Equalizers:
Select the desired sound by repeatedly pressing the equalizer button EQ “FUN/EQ”. You can choose between the following settings: FLA →CLAS →ROC →POP →JAZZ
Power saving mode:
- The device is equipped with an automatic switch-off function to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
- The device switches to standby mode if the loudspeaker receives no signal or too little signal within approx. 10 minutes in CD/AUX-IN/USB function.
- To resume operation, press the “POWER” button.
- Please note: When playing via AUX-In, set the volume on your external device to maximum and control the playback volume using the volume buttons on this device.
- This function is regulated by an EU standard and switching it off does not represent a technical defect !
- If the device is not used for a long period of time, it should be switched off completely or unplugged to save energy.
Radio operation
- Channel search:
- Switch on the device and select the radio function using the function selection button.
- Manual/Automatic channel search:

for more than 1 second. The automatic station search is started and the device searches for the previous/next station with a sufficient broadcast signal. The frequency is shown on the display.
- Repeat this process until the desired station is found.

- Antenna alignment:
To achieve the best possible reception, pull out the telescopic antenna (13) completely and align it accordingly. - Mono/stereo reception:
When receiving a stereo station in stereo, the message “ST” appears alternately with the frequency on the display. - Station storage:
A maximum of 20 station memory locations can be used. - Automatic station storage:
- Press the station memory button “SCAN” for longer than 1 second.
- Automatic station storage begins: All stations with a sufficiently strong signal are automatically stored one after the other. (P01, P02, ….) The station storage locations are briefly shown on the display.
- Playback starts automatically from the first saved station.
- Manual station storage:
- Tune to the station you want to save.
- Briefly press the “
/ REP / MEM” button. The memory location display “P 01” flashes on the display.
- To save the station in the displayed station memory location, press the “
/ REP / MEM” button again.
- Repeat these steps until you have saved all the stations you want to the memory locations.
- Retrieving station presets:
To recall a stored station, briefly press the memory button “P+” until the desired station memory location or frequency is shown on the display.
Hints: Even if you switch off the radio using the “POWER” button, the stored stations remain stored in the assigned memory locations.
Operating the CD player
Compatible disc types:
- This device is suitable for playing audio CD / CD-R / CD-RW .
- This device can play MP3 formats .
- Do not attempt to play a computer CD or DVD.
- Please note that the playback of data on CD-R and CD-RW depends on the software used. The physical condition of the CD is also a criterion.
- Due to the variety of available data storage media and storage formats, 100% compatibility with all data storage media and formats cannot be guaranteed.
Playback of audio CDs:
- Switch on the device and select the “CD” function. The message “Cd” appears on the display and “—-” flashes.
- If there is no CD in the tray, “NO” appears on the display.
- Open the CD manually. “OP” appears on the display.
- Remove the inserted transport lock and insert a CD into the tray with the label facing up.
- Close the CD tray manually.
- If the CD compartment is properly closed, the CD will be read and the total number of tracks will appear briefly on the display. Playback will then begin from the first track. The elapsed time of the current track will appear on the display.
- If the CD is not inserted correctly or if it is defective or cannot be read, “NO” appears on the display and the device returns to stop mode.
- PAUSE: To temporarily pause playback,
briefly press the Play/Pause button ll. The display flashes. To resume playback, briefly press the Play/Pause button again.
- STOP: If you want to stop playback, press the stop button
for more than 1 second. The total number of tracks appears on the display.
Playback of MP3 CDs:
Playing CDs on which music has been saved in MP3 format is basically the same as playing audio CDs. However, when you insert the MP3 CD, the total number of folders created (e.g. F 07 if 7 folders are saved) is also displayed, followed by the total number of tracks saved in the first folder.
SKIP / Title jump:
Use the arrow keys (and
) to select the previous or next track.
Danger:
If you have selected a track in stop mode, you must press the Play/Pause button to start playback.
SEARCH / fast search forward/backward:
By pressing and holding the arrow keys (and
) you can locate any point on the CD. This search can only be performed in playback mode. As soon as the key is released, playback begins at the point reached.
REPEAT/repeat function:
- You can play a track or the entire disc repeatedly. To do this, press the “REP” button during playback. Each time you press it, the function changes as follows:
- Press once: “ONE” appears briefly on the display. The current track is repeated.
- Press twice: “FILE” appears briefly on the display. All tracks in the current folder are repeated. (This step only applies if an MP3 CD has been inserted).
- Press 3 times: “ALL” appears briefly on the display. All tracks on the disc are played repeatedly
- Press 4 times: “OFF” appears briefly on the display: Normal playback without repeat function.
USB
These functions allow you to play music data in MP3 format from a USB storage device.
Please note:
- In this mode only MP3 formats can be played.
- The playback capability of your MP3 data depends on the recording conditions such as PC performance, software, etc.
- Insert the USB storage device (stick) directly into the socket; it is recommended not to use any connection cables.
- Compatibility cannot be 100% guaranteed with all USB storage devices (sticks).
- To avoid possible damage to the USB storage device, the USB storage device may only be inserted or removed in standby mode.
- Insert a USB stick with MP3 music data into the USB port.
- Turn on the device.
- Use the function selection button to select “USb”. If no USB stick is plugged in, “NO” appears on the display and the device switches to standby mode.
- The number of folders and the total number of tracks will be displayed briefly, then playback will automatically start from the first track.
- To access or play the saved tracks, proceed as described under “Playing Audio CDs” or “Playing MP3 CDs”.
AUX-IN function
You have the option of playing music from external audio devices via the audio input . To do this, use an audio cable with a 3.5 mm jack (not included) .
- Turn on the device.
- Press the function selection button until AUX appears on the display.
- Plug the 3.5 mm jack of the audio cable into the AUX connection socket and the other end of the cable into your external audio device (MP3 player, CD player, …).
- Start playing the audio from the external device and the music will be played through the speakers of this device.
- The various functions (skip, search, repeat) can only be controlled via the external audio device.
- Adjust the volume either with the volume control or on the external audio device.
Please note:
We recommend that you set the volume of your external audio device to maximum and adjust the actual playback volume using the volume controls on this device. If the volume level of your external device is set too low, there is a possibility that the device will turn off automatically because the received input signal is too weak for detection. (See Power Saving Mode).
Maintenance and Care
Treating a CD:
- To remove a CD from the holder in the cover, press the spindle in the center of the cover and lift the CD up by the edges.
- Hold the CD only by the edges; do not touch the surface of the CD.
- If there is dust or other dirt on the surface, take a soft, dry cloth and wipe from the center to the edges in a direct direction.
- Do not use circular movements!
- Never use anti-static sprays, benzine, thinner or record sprays for cleaning. These chemicals can damage the surface of the CD.
- Do not stick or write anything on the shiny side of the CD.
- Too high a volume can cause “skipping”. In this case, reduce the volume.
- Do not expose CDs to direct sunlight or extreme heat for long periods of time.
- Always keep your CDs in the case provided.
- Only play CDs marked with this symbol:
Cleaning the CD player:
- To maintain perfect sound quality, it is necessary to keep the CD compartment free of dirt and dust. Therefore, clean the inside of the CD compartment from time to time with a dry cotton swab.
- Do not touch the laser scanner!
- Never use cleaning agents or solvents!
Cleaning the housing:
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning!
- Clean the housing with a soft, possibly slightly damp cloth. Make sure that no water penetrates the housing (ventilation slots).
- Never use harsh cleaning agents, petrol or alcohol, and avoid using abrasive cleaning utensils.
- The device must never be immersed in water or other liquids!
Helpful hints
If the device is not working properly, the following points may help you solve the problem. Please make sure to check these before contacting a customer service center:
- No electricity:
- Check that the power cord is firmly plugged in.
- Check that the socket is working properly.
- If using batteries: Insert new batteries.
- The device does not respond to any inputs:
- Due to external electromagnetic influences, the built-in microprocessor may no longer function properly. Unplug the device, wait a few minutes and plug it back in again.
- No sound:
- Volume is set too low – turn the volume control “VOLUME” clockwise . .
- Check if headphones/earphones are connected to the connection socket.
- Poor radio reception:
- Extend the telescopic antenna completely and rotate it in different directions until the best possible reception is achieved.
- Check whether there are other electrical devices operating nearby that could cause interference (microwave oven, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, etc.).
- No CD playback:
- Check if a CD is inserted.
- Check that the CD is inserted with the label facing up.
- Check if the pause button
has been pressed.
- Check that the “CD” function has been set. CD “jumps”:
- Clean the CD.
- Check the CD for scratches or other damage.
- Make sure that the device is placed on a stable, vibration-free surface.
- No playback from USB storage device:
- Check that the USB stick is inserted correctly.
- Check whether the music files are saved in the correct format (WMA, DRM data cannot be read).

Warranty:
