1. Smart Detect Technology Suite:
The Smart Detect Technology Suite includes features such as
FloorDetect, DirtDetect, and EdgeDetect. These technologies work
together to optimize cleaning performance by identifying surface
types, dirty areas, and stubborn dirt, respectively.
2. Cleaning the Detect Sensors:
To ensure proper functionality of the Detect sensors, follow
these steps:
- Turn off the power and remove the floor nozzle.
- Locate the DirtDetect sensor in the nozzle, the FloorDetect
sensor on the bottom of the nozzle, and the EdgeDetect sensors on
both sides of the nozzle. - Gently wipe the sensors with a microfiber cloth to remove any
hair and debris. - Reattach the floor nozzle and turn on the power to verify
normal operation.

Q: Why is the DirtDetect indicator sensor showing red?
A: The DirtDetect indicator sensor turns red to indicate that
cleaning is required. Follow the cleaning instructions provided in
the user manual to clean the DirtDetect sensor.

SENSOR CLEANING
Clean the sensors when the DIRTDETECT icon turns red. If the sensors are partially obstructed, Detect mode will not function as expected. If the icon is still red after cleaning, refer to Detect Sensor Maintenance in the Owner’s Guide.

TO CLEAN THE SENSORS:
1. Turn off power and remove the floor nozzle.
2. Locate the DirtDetect sensor in the nozzle (Fig. 1), the FloorDetect sensor on the bottom of the nozzle (Fig. 2), and the EdgeDetect sensors on both sides of the nozzle (Fig. 3).
3. Gently wipe the sensors with a microfiber cloth and remove all hair and debris.
4. Reattach the floor nozzle to the rest of the unit and turn on power. Verify the unit is functioning normally.
